Yankees announce ticket prices for 2014 season

The Yankees have announced ticket prices for the 2014 season. Roughly 39,000 seats will have the same price as last year while approximately 9,000 will go down. Only 2,000 seats or so will have a price increase.

The team is also re-branding some sections — some field level seats will now be Outdoor Suite Boxes — and adding something called the Field MVP Club Lounge, which is currently under construction. The Home Plate Team Store is also being renovated. Pretty amazing that given the current situation, the team is adding even more premium seating. Anyway, Chad Jennings as the full details.

How are obstructed view bleacher seats INCREASING in price? I’ve never sat there, but that just makes no sense.

    • Need Pitching & Hitting

Maybe because there was a relatively high demand for those seats due to the cheapness?
I’m guessing the seats that were selling best got the increases.
The seats that weren’t selling particularly well got the decreases.

It’s really easy to buy an obstructed seat and just move over a section.

Todays announcements were mostly positive regarding ticket prices, so stop being a downer. They actually made it so there are more affordable non-upper deck/bleacher seats. That’s huge, I very rarely ever get to sit anywhere besides the bleachers.

Also the prices in the Field MVP club will actually be LOWER than the same sections were last year for season ticket holders.

After reading what Chad wrote, it seems like these new premium seats are actually just increasing the value of what’s already there. I think these are the seats behind the super expensive Legend seats. The price is going down and they’re getting a new club area added.

They’re boxing off the top rows of the Field sections between the bases that don’t sell and repackaging them as suites with an ~exclusive club~ because apparently that’s what been holding people back from shelling out hundreds of dollars for them.

Ah actually I take that back after looking at the brochure, it’s the front rows getting club access. Point still stands.

Can I still get a good seat for $2500? Me, the wife and three kids for $12,500. Figure a couple dogs and a few beers makes it $12,700. Still a bargain to see Luis Cruz and Alberto Gonzales.

    • Caballo Sin Nombre

Only $200 for hot dogs and beer???? Where can I find a deal like that?

      • Lukaszek

My pal Chad always sits in Section 213 and sells priced down Black Market hot dogs for $100. If you ever want cheap dogs just look for him in that section, he usually wears a dirty gray hoodie and has a skull tattooed on his exposed right buttock. He’s a pretty cool guy, but make sure to never look him in the eye otherwise he will stab you in the leg.

We’ll food is all included with your $12,500 so you wouldn’t have to worry about food! #bargin BUT you still have to buy alcohol. Getting the kids sauced up shouldn’t be that bad. A sippy cup of scotch is only $16!

    • Now Batting

Didn’t check but I’m pretty sure the $2500 price was slashed in half after the first season.

None of this is the end of the world but I think it’s a shame that they keep adding ways to go to the game without really being there. I just don’t understand the desire to sit at a bar and watch a game on TV instead of sitting in your seat, watching with your own eyes, and making some noise. I’m obviously in the minority but it really eats at me nonetheless.

I love this team so much, but every time I go to YS3 I come away with a meh attitude towards the stadium. You really Gota laugh at what they did with monument cave, the spaceship in CF, the TVs they put in the bleachers, and how far pushed back the upper deck is, all for more than a billion bucks. Call me a sap but man I miss old time parks and really enjoy hitting up Fenway and Wrigley more than other stadiums.

Every time I visit YS3 it makes me appreciate the old Yankee Stadium more and more. I still remember my 1st game July 23rd 1993 vs California Angels like it was yesterday.

just say it the new stadium sucks…..and is beyond absurd with pricing….bought the 82 screen and now have the best seat in the house.

  • Doug

They don’t make the playoffs and now the cost of my partial ticket plan (in section 132) is going up. Ugh. Oh well. Here’s hoping for a better team in 2014.
