Game 35: Bounce Back
Yanks let another game slip away, waste Warren's effort in 3-2 loss to Rays

RHP Luis Severino has been placed on the Double-A disabled list with a right middle finger injury, according to Matt Kardos. Severino had to leave his last start after only two innings with a blister. No real cause for concern. Blisters happen. The Yankees are playing it safe — and giving the Thunder a full roster — and hopefully Severino won’t miss much time.

Triple-A Scranton (3-1 loss to Norfolk)

  • LF Ramon Flores: 2-5, 1 K — 16-for-52 (.308) in his last 13 games
  • 2B Rob Refsnyder: 2-4, 2 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K — had a bit of a slow start in each of his three pro seasons so far, so maybe he’s just that type of hitter, like Mark Teixeira most of his career
  • DH Kyle Roller: 1-3, 1 BB, 1 K
  • RF Tyler Austin: 0-4, 2 K
  • LHP Matt Tracy: 6 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 1 WP, 6/6 GB/FB — 50 of 92 pitches were strikes (54%)
  • RHP Jared Burton: 2 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, 0/2 GB/FB — 21 of 34 pitches were strikes (62%)

Double-A Trenton (9-8 win over Portland)

  • CF Jake Cave: 1-4, 1 RBI, 2 BB, 1 K — 12.6 BB% and 15.4 K% this year after 7.5 BB% and 20.2 K% last year
  • RF Aaron Judge: 1-5, 1 R, 1 2B — leads the league with 42 hits
  • DH Eric Jagielo: 3-4, 2 R, 1 2B, 1 BB, 1 K — hitting .304/.385/.589 this year which, uh, works just fine, thanks
  • C Gary Sanchez: 3-5, 2 R, 1 HR, 3 RBI — 23-for-74 (.311) in his last 17 games
  • LHP Eric Wooten: 3.1 IP, 5 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 5/1 GB/FB — 41 of 64 pitches were strikes (64%)
  • RHP Nick Goody: 1.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, 1 WP, 1/1 GB/FB — 24 of 41 pitches were strikes (59%)
  • RHP Mark Montgomery: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 1/1 GB/FB — 12 of 19 pitches were strikes (63%)

High-A Tampa (6-4 win over St. Lucie)

  • SS Abi Avelino: 3-5, 1 RBI, 1 SB
  • 2B Tyler Wade: 1-5, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 K
  • 3B Miguel Andujar: 1-5, 1 RBI, 2 K, 1 E (fielding)
  • CF Mark Payton: 0-2, 1 R, 2 BB, 1 K — 16/15 K/BB in 25 games
  • RF Michael O’Neill: 2-4, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 RBI
  • LHP Chaz Hebert: 5 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 1 WP, 7/2 GB/FB — picked two runners off first

Low-A Charleston had a scheduled off-day.
