• Brian Cashman confirmed the Yankees parted ways with Joe Girardi over concerns he didn’t “communicate and connect” with players. So far the Rob Thomson and Eric Wedge have interviewed for the job. Aaron Boone is also in the mix, and both John Flaherty and David Cone have thrown their hats in the ring too.
• Aaron Judge was named a finalist for the AL Rookie of the Year and AL MVP awards while Luis Severino is a finalist for AL Cy Young. Judge and Gary Sanchez won Silver Sluggers.
• The Nippon Ham Fighters will indeed post Shohei Otani this offseason. He hasn’t been posted yet, however. The (Ham) Fighters only announced their intentional to post Otani at some point.
• The Yankees did not tender any of their free agents the qualifying offer, unsurprisingly. Both Nick Rumbelow and Jake Cave were added to the 40-man roster.
• Baseball Prospectus released their top ten Yankees prospects list. Sixteen Yankees farmhands became minor league free agents.
