Game 13: Lefties
Yankees come back for win over Diamondbacks

Triple-A Scranton (7-0 win over Rochester)

  • 3B David Adams: 3-4, 2 R, 1 BB — had been in a little 4-for-18 rut (.222)
  • LF Zoilo Almonte: 1-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB — eight hits in his last 13 at-bats (.615) with six walks and no strikeouts … where did this come from?
  • CF Melky Mesa: 2-5, 1 R, 1 2B — three straight games with an extra-base hit
  • RF Thomas Neal: 2-4, 2 R, 1 CS
  • C Bobby Wilson: 1-4, 1 R, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 1 K, 1 PB — he didn’t hit a grand slam in case you were wondering, it was a two-run shot
  • RHP Graham Stoneburner: 6 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 10/5 GB/FB — 51 of 73 pitches were strikes (70%)

Double-A Trenton (10-6 loss to Akron)

  • CF Slade Heathcott: 1-5, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K — missed just five days with the neck problem
  • DH Tyler Austin: 0-3, 1 R, 2 BB, 1 K — pretty slow start to the season, but it has only been two weeks
  • 1B Kyle Roller: 2-5, 1 R, 1 K
  • 3B Rob Segedin: 1-3, 1 R, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 HBP
  • LF Kevin Mahoney: 3-4, 1 R, 2 RBI, 1 BB
  • LHP Francisco Rondon: 5 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, 8/4 GB/FB — 50 of 88 pitches were strikes (57%) … 13 strikeouts and seven walks in 14 innings so far
  • RHP Danny Burawa: 1 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, 1/1 GB/FB — 22 of 38 pitches were strikes (58%)

High-A Tampa (9-4 win over Dunedin)

  • LF Ben Gamel: 1-5, 1 R, 1 BB
  • DH Gary Sanchez: 1-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 K
  • 1B Saxon Butler: 2-3, 2 R, 1 BB, 1 K — just promoted to help cover for some injuries
  • SS Ali Castillo: 1-2, 2 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB
  • RHP Shane Greene: 6.1 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, 8/2 GB/FB — very nice … still want to see what he can do out of the bullpen

Low-A Charleston (4-1 win over Rome)

  • CF Taylor Dugas: 1-3, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 HBP
  • SS Cito Culver: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 CS — remember the hot start? he’s got four hits in his last 27 at-bats (.148)
  • 1B Greg Bird: 2-4, 2 K
  • 2B Rob Refsnyder: 3-4, 1 3B, 2 RBI — can’t imagine he’ll be here very long after spending three years at a major college program
  • 3B Dante Bichette Jr.: 0-4, 1 K —
  • RHP Gabe Encinas: 5 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, 1 WP, 5/2 GB/FB — 51 of 81 pitches were strikes (63%) … 15 strikeouts and six walks in 17 innings so far
