Hack writer: A-Rod = Bonds

Just in case...
Caldera: Mo Accepts

Meet Tim Kawakami, writer for the San Jose Mercury News. He had nothing better to write today, so he compared A-Rod and Bonds.

It was already obvious, but last Thursday sealed the deal. Bonds and Rodriguez are fused in the sports mentality – what you love about one of them, you love about the other; what you hate about one, you hate about the other (aside from the Bonds/Balco mess).

Yeah, because the Bonds/BALCO thing is just a footnote on Bonds’s career. Not like he’s being indicted for it or anything.

The column, as you can probably figure, is an enormous waste of the newspaper’s budget.

wow. “aside from the Balco mess”?? huh?

aside from that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln?

I guess this guy based his “research” on A-Rod from highlights on SportsCenter because that whole “isolation” in the clubhouse was just BS. I dont even have to explain why, because everyone knows what an incredibly stupid statement that was.

Uh oh, the Mariano killer, Marco Scutaro, has been traded by A’s to the Blue Jays.(I don’t actually know his career numbers against Mo’ but I’ll never forget that walkoff shot he hit against him last season)

We dont have to worry because where is Scutaro gonna fit in the everyday lineup? John McDonald is there at SS, Aaron Hill at 2B, and Troy Glaus at 3B.

Complete 180 with the post category. When does the selfish jerk category get changed to something a little more…positive?

The terrible part about it is that the newspaper PUBLISHED IT!!! How sad is the media these days? They’ll just print everything.

It’s going to be weird not hearing about Bonds next season. Is that a good thing or bad thing? Just weird.

Bonds hated his teammates. Arod wants, more than just about anything, to be liked and accepted by his teammates and fans. While Barry suffers from the Great I Am complex, Alex fights an inferiority complex every step of the way.

Oh and there’s the small matter that Alex’s muscle is made through hard work and training.

I have never been “warm” to Arod but I can respect him. Bonds has never had my respect.

A lazy and stupid writer decided to make a big reach for a comparison. There is none.

Well, um, they both hit really, really well…except one hits like at disturbingly obscene levels with like a .600 OBP and the other hits at just really good levels. Oh, and one took his already HoF career and tarnished it with the consumption and abuse of illegal drugs, while the other, thus far, has built his 1st ballot HoF credentials on pure talent. Oh, and one is a manipulative, self-absorbed, cruel, hateful jackass who doesn’t care what anyone thinks, while the other is a self-absorbed, inconsiderate, but deeply concerned and lacking in self-confidence bonehead who just wants to be loved.

So I suppose you could compare Bonds and A-Rod. Cause, you know, they both hit lotsa home runs.

The writer goes, lessee…I hate Bonds and I hate Arod…therefore they must be the same!
