Lavin materials prove true

Apparently, the joke was on me. Earlier today, I accused the media of falling for a Jose Canseco book hoax. Turns out my skepticism this time was not well-founded. Will Leitch got his hands on some of Vindicated and posted the excerpts on Deadspin. While the passages are in the book, Canseco’s words come across as jealous, bitter rantings. Vindicated will be no Juiced.

Given the revelations about Canseco allegedly asking for money from Maglio Ordonez to keep him out of the book, and Don Yeager’s decision to back out of the project because he didn’t “think he’s got what he claims to have, certainly doesn’t have what he claims to have on A-Rod.” the inescapable conclusion is that Canseco’s claims deserve to be treated as spurious.

Hey, if a man with those eyes and gorgeous highlights tried to sleep with my wife I would try to smear his name in any possible way also.

If this is true, I can’t blame A-rod. Have you seen Jessica Canseco?!?!?!!

    oh my god.

you mean she’s muscular? i kid, but, really I want the 15 minutes of my life back that I spent reading Canseco’s 1st grade writing. I especially enjoyed every time he would pause and introduce the lie detector, and finish with “see do you believe me now!” Thanks Jose, we get it! We believe you know, the dog did eat your homework!
