  • TurnTwo

    good first inning for Bleich.

  • E-ROC

Erin Andrews looks good in blue.

Bleich has that curveball going today.

Erin Andrews looks good in most things.

      • TurnTwo

and prob looks best in nothing.

        • tommiesmithjohncarlos

I’m sorry, I don’t see it. Erin Andrews is utterly average. This sports blogosphere with Erin Andrews has clearly veered off into Star Wars/Star Trek level geekery crushes on Princess Leia or Uhuru.

Just because she’s the one person on the broadcast you’re watching who has a pair of knockers and doesn’t have a beard doesn’t make her pretty. It just makes her a woman. There are tons of women everywhere; put down your homemade laser blaster replica and go talk to one.

Nice clean 1-2-3 to start the game.

  • Yankees=warriors

I wish I could watch this game. I’ll bet it beats the current Yankee-Reds game.
I hate watching us getting shutout by another rookie…

    • TurnTwo

it absolutely baffles me how this team plays against rookies, or pitchers they havent seen before.

      • Yankees=warriors

Tell me about it! And when it’s our rookies out there, they get pounded. However, Geise is doing a good job, hope the offense won’t waste his efforts.

  • TurnTwo

Bleich has a nice, fluid motion… doesnt look like he exudes much effort at all.

  • Chip

This college gametracker beats gameday hands down

  • E-ROC

That was a terrible shift, even though it would’ve ended being a double anyway.

Toby Gerhart is big dude. I guess it helps to be on the football team.

Orel Hershiser is great. I wonder how terrible Steve Phillips would sound calling this game. Thank God we won’t ever find out.

    • TurnTwo

agreed. the team of guys they have on the CWS games trumps any combo they have on any of their MLB games.

Mike Patrick destroys Michael Kay too, even if he goes off on the occasionally inappropriate tangent.

  • E-ROC

    Fastball on the black. K’d!

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike A.

To paraphrase Ken Singleton, Bleich is working the corners like a cop on the beat.

    • E-ROC

      LOL.

  • E-ROC

    Bad luck.

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike A.

Futile attempt at getting out of the way on that one.

    • TurnTwo

i was thinking the same thing. i wouldnt have even let him go to first.

  • E-ROC

Bleich’s command has been great. Just bad luck scored that run on a bloop single. If the bat was made of wood, I don’t think that single happens.

  • E-ROC

    Good imitation of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

  • TurnTwo

Stanford needs to stop swings at AWFUL pitches out of the K zone.

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike A.

They’re doing what they see Melky and Cano doing. They’re just copying the big leaguers they watch on TV.

  • TurnTwo

‘Castro the Astro” seems like something Michael Kay would come up with. he needs to stop saying that.

  • E-ROC

    What stuff does Bleich have?

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike A.

      Fastball, change, curve. That’s it.

      • TurnTwo

seems like thats all he really needs, as long as he can keep his control up.

      • E-ROC

Is he comparable to Chase Wright?

        • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike A.

Yeah, that’s actually a good comp stuff wise. Bleich has better command and he’s got a better body though.

          • E-ROC

            Thanx for the info.

  • Mark B

Bleich reminds me of a very young Tom Glavine….

  • Baseballnation

    Whoa….

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike A.

Yeah, not having his best day.

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike A.

Wow, going to the closer in the 4th inning…

    • E-ROC

I wonder what would happen if the Yanks brought in Mo in the 4th inning of a playoff game.

      • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike A.

They would be ripped apart by every media outlet in the country.

UNC did the same thing last year. Their starter was getting hammered in Game 2 of the CWS (they were down in 1-0 in the best of 3), and they brought in their closer in the 2nd inning.

  • TurnTwo

well, not exactly the best afternoon for yankees fans to enjoy some baseball.

  • E-ROC

there is no quit in stanford.

  • E-ROC

It’s nice watching college baseball games, especially when you get to see the nice blondes in stands make cameos.

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike A.

Man, I went to the CWS in 2005, and I swear, it’s like a super hot chick competition. They keep getting better and better looking as the days go on.

  • E-ROC

That homerun might just do it.

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike A.

That homer might have been the straw that broke the camel’s back.

  • TurnTwo

time to go to the tivo and watch the Netherlands/Russia Euro 08 match.

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike A.

Josh Fields’ sporting a Mariner’s hat.

  • E-ROC

Josh Fields is taking it in the a$$ right now. 10-8 Georgia in the bottom of the 9th inning.
