Joba can RaWrrrr

e mills says:

Phillips obviously upset that Alex didn’t fail – Orel says, “I can tell you’re upset Steve by the expression on your face” after Alex singles

handtius says:

is this serious or a joke. i could believe either.

e mills says:

no, Orel really said that

Was Michael Kay just naming the seagulls?

LiveFromNewYork says:

RCK says:

That was what passes for a literary comment from Michael Kay

Matt-Pitt says:

Is Todd Helton still an underrated player in baseball? After all he has done throughout his career, I feel like he gets no love.

Steven says:

Cuz he plays in Colorado

I think Helton is as underrated as a singles hitter in a huge singles-friendly park making 16.6M this year and next and 19.1M in 2011 can possibly be.

Which is to say, no, he’s not underrated.

Matt-Pitt says:

I think underrated was the wrong word? Maybe overlooked? I just feel like he doesn’t get talked about too much after all he has done throughout his career. I see where you are coming from though.

Sure, yeah, overlooked.

I just wonder what his production levels would really be if he wasn’t in Coors anymore. He has no power anymore, and without the huge gaps of Coors, I wonder how many fewer singles he’d be producing.

If he was hitting .270/.350/.390, that 16M contract would look like a Barry Zito-level disaster.

Zack says:

its because his career BA is .065 less away from Coors

Singles hitter? Maybe now in his mid-30’s, but he averaged over 88 XBH during a 6-yr period from ages 25-31, including seasons of 103 & 105 XBH at ages 26 & 27.

I know he plays in Coors, but come on, that’s some serious power right there. We don’t see guys like Brad Hawpe and Garrett Atkins putting up those kinds of numbers.

Plus, Helton was Peyton Manning’s backup at Tennessee.

Oh, no, sorry for the confusion.

Yes, he’s a singles hitter NOW.

In his prime, Helton was the man. No doubt about it. Coors helps, but Larry Walker and Todd Helton in their primes were legit stud MVP candidates.

John says:

Man, if it wasn’t for that Tex miscue, it would have been bases loaded 1 out again for Cano but im not complaining, we got 4 runs and I couldn’t have asked for more after last inning

yankeefan91 Arod fan says:

come on joba 1-2-3

pat says:

I hope someone can pitch the 8th.

I’m hoping for more homophobia myself.

Teix is the Man says:

cmon joba, quick inning

Well, that’s better, isn’t it?

- Joba dealing
- Lead re-established
- Ignorant troglodytic belligerent homophobic fools banished to the nether-reaches of the internet

http://wordandimage.files.word.....attack.png

pat says:

lolcats u make my world go round.

94 in the 7th. Love it.

Nady Nation says:

e mills says:

the best thing about the Victor Martinez AB last inning was that Joba showed he can still bring that 97-98 mph fastball if he needs it

Pete says:

Wow, thought we were breaking the errorless streak right there…

Teix is the Man says:

JobaWockeeZ says:

I want to see Joba pitch the 8th. Then I’ll look forward to watching Francesa. Hopefully that Alex guy he yelled at calls again to piss of Francesa to eventually say…
“ANDY PETTITTE IS A STARTING PITCHER!”

Teix is the Man says:

That would be aweaome!

That guy was unhappy, huh? Yikes.

(Reply to Pat’s comment fail. My bad.)

Jackson says:

He certaintly wasn’t part of the positive posse thats for sure

I hate to say it, but the rampant homophobia and the “positive posse” refrain…

IronHorse = DonnieBaseballHallofFame?

Nah… DBHOF wasn’t ever that out of line, was he? That was a new level of doucheitude.

Yeah, DBHOF wasn’t ever that insane.

Perhaps he decided to come back with a vengance, though. Just my idle mudslinging, pay it no mind.

handtius says:

John says:

Tex A-rod > Manny Ortiz , especially when you consider defense

Walking Tex for A-rod is asking for trouble, its a nightmare either way

JobaWockeeZ says:

Agreed. I’d take two more athletic batters with better defense than two huge people with one of them incapable of playing defense.

Tom Zig says:

they both are awful defensively

gxpanos says:

e mills: did Orel really say that to Phillips about A-Rod?

e mills says:

LiveFromNewYork says:

I missed the homophobia. Was that here? Glad I missed it.

Read the immediately preceding gamethread. If you dare.

Thank you, Oh Thank you.

Nady Nation says:

Positive Posse strikes again!

Whitey14 says:

I was going to make fun of the guy for being banned, but I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that Ben has typed a similar message to me only to delete it out of the goodness of his heart ;-)

Whitey, I would sooner read a million comments from an intelligent adversary such as you than one more comment from that mouthbreathing knuckledragger Ironhorse ever again.

You’re good money around here, my friend.

Wait, that sounded kinda gay, forget i said that.

Whitey14 says:

Whoa, remember, only the guy in the front is gay…at least that’s what they told me in college…

A.D. says:

damn productive outs

kSturnz says:

quick out and let him go for the eigth. Joba is working fast, throwing fast

V says:

Do you send Joba out for the 8th? 95 pitches after 7.

Steven says:

I would but Girardi won’t, the other time Joba pitched 7 innings, he got pulled after that with only 92 pitches

Steven says:

95 pitches through 7, could we see Joba in the 8th?

Andrew says:

Joba through seven innings. But the mediots were telling me he was only a 5 inning pitcher.

donttradecano says:

HIS ERA IS A 3.78!!!!!! THATS ATROCIOUS!!!!

Zack says:

Oh man Joba has to pitch the 8th just to hear the reaction of Fatcesna tomorrow.

Andrew says:

Ya that would be great. I have a feeling though Francesa is still going to nitpick the start. I.e. 2 runs allowed and 2 walks.

Francesa will never stop.

He’s like the Terminator of idiocy.

Come with me if you want to lose brain cells.

Zack says:

ie. he’s only been the 7th twice

If he doosnt make da dabole play he gives up 4 runs!!!1!

Teix is the Man says:

I think jona will be out for the eighth….few more bullets in the tank cause of the oriole game

David Price did it last week. Joba should do it today. Gotta unleash these kids and let them throw 110/115 pitches at some point. Joba’s arm will not fall off.

That said, Girardi will probably pull him.

JobaWockeeZ says:

No one warming up. We can hope.

Girardi has to… for US damnit!

He does read RAB…

I just felt a diet coke can being crushed

Evan says:

ANDY PETTITTE IS A STARTING PITCHUH!

John says:

Zack says:

he prefers bottles over cans

pat says:

Joba has had a pretty easy first 7 let the kid pitch.

kSturnz says:

Yes! Joba for the eighth!!

Drew says:

Is Alf available today?

LiveFromNewYork says:

Yeah I’d like to see Girardi and Pena take turns catching.

Evan says:

Wow. Mitch Williams on the MLB Network just said, “Even if Joba can win me 20 games a year, I still want him as my 8th inning guy”. Is this guy a dolt or what?

LiveFromNewYork says:

Worse. Brain dead. Anyone who would even say that is too ignorant for me to even consider their thoughts.

pat says:

HAHAHAHAHAHA ridiculous.

You know that Brad Lidge OWNED pic?

http://i15.photobucket.com/alb....._Owned.jpg

I want one of those for Mitch Williams and Joe Carter.

Zack says:

wheres a towel, ill do the curt schilling

JobaWockeeZ says:

They’re just pretending to know baseball since everyone else int he media thinks he should go in the bullpen.

Zack says:

i wish i could hear kruk’s comments on bbtn- too bad he’s covering the ncaa softball…

donttradecano says:

says the guy who couldnt close out the world series.

e mills says:

I feel like most of the B-Jobbers are just trying to say that they were right in the event that the bullpen blows something big like a playoff game or a chance to get to the playoffs, but clearly Joba being a starter is the right move. Cashman can fix the bullpen, or the bullpen can simply right itself

They say we only use 10% of our brain but I cant give that much credit.

&give Mitch Williams that much credit

Matt M. says:

my brother and father are Bjobbers…..sigh.
they just dont understand that when you start moving your gbest pitchers out into the bullpen…then you are left with the likes of Darrel Rasner and Sidney Ponson.

LiveFromNewYork says:

I LOVE that replay. The guys laughing in the dugout is great too.

pat says:

Melky draws a walk. I like seeing that. Possibly a corner he has turned?

John says:

Patience pays…Our lineup is pretty patient and has worn the pitcher down a lot and I love it!

Yes, some could be bad pitching but our lineup deserves credit, now if only we could get Cano involved…

11 walks.

I’d appreciate that, but it would probably make me a gay pansy of some sort.

Jackson says:

That’s too positive. 11 walks = Indians suck, it =/= Yankees good.

Well, I am in the “positive posse”.

I’m also a homo, apparently. I love the cock.

gxpanos says:

Kay should be advocating the bunt any second now. It’s actually not an awful idea right now.

LiveFromNewYork says:

Women who just scream at baseball games annoy me. Men too but the female scream goes right through me.

LiveFromNewYork says:

I didn’t mean to reply to this. I think I was going to say something about Kay and then that woman’s scream just annoyed me too damn much.

daveg says:

5 Hits and 11 Walks

E-ROC says:

I think you pull Joba since he threw that simulated 1st inning before the game. Hopefully, someone in the ‘pen will step up.

Tom Zig says:

i guess we should have him do that more often

Zack says:

i dont get that, so he threw the simulated inning so now his pitch count is no longer 100-110 its 90-100?

Jake says:

Matt-Pitt says:

Why not let Pena just try and pull a ball? Makes no sense.

Steven says:

Did Kay just say that bunting was a bad idea? wow

donttradecano says:

and tomorrow Francessa moves of the b-jobber list.

pat says:

Nah no way. He’s in waaaaay too deep for that. He’ll take it to the grave, he has too much pride.

YankeeJosh says:

He said Sunday night that “we all know” it’s so obvious Joba needs to be in the pen.

No way he changes his tune. Francessa never admits he’s wrong.

LiveFromNewYork says:

The world is clearly about the end.

V says:

Oof, not cool bunting out, but I do like to see someone willing to try to bunt with 2 strikes.

You need to get it down, though.

V says:

Note – as long as it’s for a base hit, and not a sac.

Drew says:

Yeah he probably wanted to show Joe G he could get his job done…

Jake says:

I don’t think that was from the bench. Hopefully he was just trying to prove he could bunt…

kSturnz says:

I’m glad we don’t have that guy anymore

dkidd says:

putz is blowing up

Zack says:

johan to the 8th!!1!

Evan says:

At least Girardi is letting Joba pitch the 8th. His game to lose at this point.

Charlie says:

Stupid move by Pena, and all around bad baseball by the yanks today. Great pitching by Joba, but the yanks don’t even deserve to be winning this game right now

JobaWockeeZ says:

…really?
Bad baseball?
The only hing bad was unclutch hitting.
I do not care what Pena did, if he put it down that’s a hit and Melky goes to third with jeter up.
Seriously be a fan and root for your goddamn team.

“I do not care what Pena did, if he put it down that’s a hit and Melky goes to third with jeter up.
Seriously be a fan and root for your goddamn team.”

That’s a little much. Bunting in that situation, with 2 strikes, was not smart. Being a fan doesn’t mean blindly claiming everything the team does is right.

Tom Zig says:

We pitched much better. So yes we do deserve the win.

Drew says:

Hmm… well that’s one way to look at it. lol

The Indians walked 11 hitters. The Indians don’t deserve to be winning this game. Since one team has to win, the Yanks deserve it more.

Charlie says:

Can’t argue with that, but the yanks should definitely have more than 5 runs

pat says:

Thats a little harsh. They drew 11 walks, got a couple clutch hits, have played good D and have gotten a great start from Joba. They definitely deserve to be winning.

LiveFromNewYork says:

Why would you say they deserve to lose? Joba deserves the win. Period. End of story.

Don’t be stupid.

Jackson says:

That’s a pretty negative attitude. You’re last name isn’t Brown by any chance is it Charlie?

handtius says:

Pitching wins games…So, Joba goes 8 giving up 2 and we win. That is the definition of a win.

Steven says:

Joba pitching the 8th inning, exactly what francessa wanted

Evan says:

If Joba can do this every game, the Joba as a start wins, and the Joba TO TEH 8TH!!! wins. Joba = Problem Solver.

UWS says:

Joba WILL pitch teh 8th!!!11!

handtius says:

This blog is too straight. where are all the gays. need some gays.

You must be talking about me. I’m a huge homo-fag.

LiveFromNewYork says:

Joba says the bugs can eat my shorts. And Francesa too.

Jay says:

Sometimes I think you’re too hard on yourself…

Whitey14 says:

He said hard on…

Careful, you’ll get TSJC all aroused again.

You know how much I love the cock, after all…

handtius says:

One’s not enough, bring some friend. Don’t you type multiply like bunnies?

Nady Nation says:

pat says:

NEEDS MORE COWBELL MACRAME JEAN SHORTS

Steven says:

I love how a mike francessa ad came on just as Joba is about to pitch the 8th

Joba’s pitching the 8th, yet both sides of the B-Jobber debate are happy. We’ve reached nirvana.

Matt-Pitt says:

Glad to see Joba still in the game.

Matt M. says:

Jake says:

Joba to teh eighth!11!!11

Seriously, is Cleveland the freaking portal to Hades? Why is this stadium cursed with locusts and ravens and shit? Is Yahweh going to turn Lake Erie into a pool of blood next?

dkidd says:

hillary swank needs to investigate

UWS says:

Why is this stadium cursed with locusts and ravens and shit?

Well, it IS in Cleveland….

UWS says:

The midges are descending. I say that’s a sign from on high that Joba should not pitch the 8th.

AndrewYF says:

Joba really doesn’t like bugs.

LiveFromNewYork says:

Francesa is on the air for 5 and a half hours a day? Good Mo that is about 5 hours too long.

Evan says:

Can’t wait to see how Tankseca reacts to this one tomorrow.

ITS ONE START, GIVE ME THE NUMBIZ ON ANDY PETTITTE IS A STAHTING PITCHUH!

He gave up that long homah to Martinez, and if you have him throw 8 innings every day, he’ll expose himself to injury diving for popups.

yankeefan91 Arod fan says:

come on joba nice quick inning here.

Drew says:

Is this a mechanical thing? I don’t understand how he suddenly refound his velocity. He’s had a couple games where hes been mid nineties, all the others were low nineties.

Teix is the Man says:

PEDS!!
I keed, I keed

V says:

I think it is.

Just like Sabathia’s command was godawful to start the season. Purely mechanics.

John says:

it’s usually mechanical and getting stronger after pitching for a while

Evan says:

LiveFromNewYork says:

Matt-Pitt says:

Jeter his ranging hard.

Matt-Pitt says:

Jeet + range? Does. Not. Compute.

kSturnz says:

francessa: obviously when Joba pitches like that, he’s gotto be a starter
caller: they want him to develop to pitch like that every time out
francessa: ANDY PETTITTE IS A STARTING PITCHER!!

V says:

People who say they’d rather have a 1 inning shutdown reliever instead of a 20 win starter are batshit insane.

If the Mets were to offer the Yankees either Johan Santana or K-Rod for, say, Angel Berroa, but only one of the two, these guys are telling me they’d take K-Rod instead of Santana?

JobaWockeeZ says:

WHY WE GET TEH CC WHEN WE COULD HAVE GOTTEN TEH K-ROD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Evan says:

You are comparing the games best pitcher to an above average closer. They aren’t on the same level.

You are comparing the games best pitcher to an above average closer. They aren’t on the same level.

I’ll take Johan Santana over Mariano Rivera every day of the week and twice on doubleheaders.

LiveFromNewYork says:

Kay, the Yankees are not “reluctant” to move him back, THEY ARE NOT MOVING HIM BACK!!!!

JobaWockeeZ says:

He’s pitching the 8th. I want to hear Francesa tomorrow because he just got owned.
HE’S PITCHING TEH 8TH! WHERES THE 110 MPH FASTBALL THAT WE WOULD SEE ONCE HE’S IN TEH 8TH?!?!? Or is it only in the bullpen? Because that magically fixes problems I hear.

gxpanos says:

Wow, some rationality from Michael Kay. All sorts of crazy going on tonight…

V says:

Agreed.

Have patience, Yankees’ fans. You’re watching two homegrown pitchers earn their pinstripes.

Zack says:

joba complete game?

ShawnT says:

The midges are back

LiveFromNewYork says:

Cleveland is a toxic waste dump.

John Duci says:

I want Joba to finish this one.

Teix is the Man says:

That would be sick

Charlie says:

eh, 106 pitches…

Evan says:

Zack says:

put him out there, if he gets a guy on then call mo

justin says:

THE BJOBBERS WIN!! JOBA’S PITCHING THE 8th…oh wait…he pitched the other seven too? Hahah, guess we win this time.

pat says:

Drop the curve to end the inning please. Just do it for me Joba. Me and my gay friends here will fellate you.

gxpanos says:

You mean the Positive Posse?

pat says:

Come on, Joba. Get this last guy!

Ivan says:

B-Jobbers got what they want, Joba is pitching the 8th inning.

Zack says:

back of his neck looked like cured pastrami

thanks kay

Way to fuckin’ go, Joba. That was a fuckin’ brilliant outing.

yankeefan91 Arod fan says:

Girardi dont dare to take him out let him pitch get a complete game.

JobaWockeeZ says:

Not going to happen.

e mills says:

man I wish I could hear that conversation b/t Joba and Jorge…they were in obvious disagreement

LiveFromNewYork says:

Bullpen this bitches.

kSturnz says:

joba wanted to get teh K – fistpump

Nady Nation says:

Have I come to the right blog if I just became aroused after watching Joba complete the 8th?

Charlie says:

thats a little much

pat says:

YES U HAVE WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER

Have I come to the right blog if I just became aroused after watching Joba complete the 8th?

That depends. Are you a man? Because if so, that arousal at the actions of another man (Joba) can’t possibly be anything other than homosexuality, and we’re all a bunch of pansy-fags around here, so yes, you’re in the right place.

handtius says:

Ivan says:

It’s really cool when guys like Hughes and Joba pitch well like this.

Evan says:

If Joba gets to close it out, does Phil get rubbed the wrong way for getting yanked the other day?

Zack says:

Phil needs to be worried about Phil, not Joba

gxpanos says:

He won’t close it out.

If Joba gets to close it out, does Phil get rubbed the wrong way for getting yanked the other day?

It’s a good thing IronHorse wasn’t around to read this comment.

YankeeScribe says:

The Yanks are on the verge of setting the MLB record for consecutive games without a fielding error. Tex for MVP?

justin says:

it’s not hard to play defense behind strikeouts. The last 17 games the Yankees have 114 k’s…sick.

handtius says:

Holey gay monkey balls, that’s awesome.

McCaff says:

Joba should be in the bullpen. We should have re-signed Carl Pavano. Ramiro Pena is responsible for bringing over swine flu.

Zack says:

You forgot to move Jeter to LF and let Pena start

John says:

and that Swisher is not a starter and that A-rod is a selfish un-clutch clubhouse cancer!

JobaWockeeZ says:

Ramiro Pena A-Rod is responsible for bringing over swine flu.
Fixed.

McCaff says:

yeah i considered that…

Yeah. Ramiro’s Mexican, sure, so it fits, but ARod most certainly has sex with pigs (as well as fish and men, because he’s a huge homo pansy), so he personally is responsible for the creation of Swine Flu, and probably AIDS as well.

Matt-Pitt says:

Looks like Joba is done. Mo got it.

V says:

I’m on the fence.

1) Joba CG.
2) Rivera for the easy save.

Note: I have both Joba and Rivera on my fantasy team.

Drew says:

Eh, no need to overextend him. Plus, Mo needs work.

John says:

Francesa tomorrow: You see how he pitched the 8th? A perfect inning! And he allowed 2 ERs, 4 hits, and 2 BBs the first 7 innings!!! He would do that everytime in the 8th! ATROCIOUS!

Drew says:

Is Swisha alive!? That would be sweet

LiveFromNewYork says:

Thank Mo Swish is coming back.

Matt-Pitt says:

Hope this is a sign of Swish heating up. Would be huge for the offense.

kSturnz says:

nick is waking up jsut in time to suck at YSIII again

I just thought of Francesa’s argument for tomorrow.

The reason Joba shouldn’t be in the rotation: If he isn’t a 6 inning pitcher, but is actually an 8 inning pitcher, if you have 5 pitchers that all pitch into the 8th inning, there’s not enough innings for your bullpen and your relievers will get rusty.

Thus, you should put Joba in the bullpen and replace him with, say, Hughes, who can only go 5 innings, so everybody still gets work and nobody gets rusty.

BOOM, THAT JUST HAPPENED. IS YOUR MIND BLOWN?

JobaWockeeZ says:

Actually no. I will not be surprised if Francesa said that.

I scared myself a little there while writing that.

whozat says:

“it wuz dah indians widdout seyezmoah…who cayhs? Lemme see him do it against a real lineup!”

handtius says:

Anyone who wants to join the “positive posse”, it cost $4 and you get a patch.

Jake says:
handtius says:

Sorry, no. the correct answer would be a whales penis for the guys and a whales vagina for a girls.

(golf clap)

Can you make mine chamomile scented?

handtius says:

Sure, with a hint of rosemary, for extra gayness.

Jay says:

I just pierced my right ear in honor of “The Posse”.

I’m gonna look for a horse, maybe a Philly for it..

Jay says:

I’m so in it’s not even funny…

claybeez says:

Only if we get a Pride Parade

Drew says:

ironhorse gave me free admission!

I bet he gave you “free admission”…

You know what I’m talking about…

Jake says:

Tex swatting flies….oh wait.

Jay says:

Looking for another Jack

Observer283 says:

Joba currently has the second best ERA among the starting pitchers. Naw, lets put him in the bullpen. It’s cool.

yankeefan91 Arod fan says:

Francesa will probably say u see how he pitch a 1-2-3 eight inning he would do dat all the time.

Charlie says:

whats really amazing is that the YES gun was actually accurate to a point, on some pitches joba was throwin 97 (gameday)

LiveFromNewYork says:

Are all the Cleveland fans drunk?

justin says:

wouldn’t you be if your team was the indians?

DOYLE – Is that all we got, one fucking hit?

STAT MAN (whispering) – You can’t say “fuckin’” on the air.

DOYLE – Don’t worry about it. Nobody’s listening anyway.

Anyone else really tired of the “Hip, hip! Jorge!” chant?

John says:

LiveFromNewYork says:

I hate it. I really do.

Charlie says:

wow, tex and arod both??

handtius says:

What happened to Axl? Did he get banned too or did we just start winning?

John says:
handtius says:

that’s what I thought. Joined Lanny on the Indians blog.

John says:

Jensen Lewis out to get his revenge

LiveFromNewYork says:

I was reading the Jays or the O’s blog one night during a Yankees game and someone asked, “Do the Yankees have anyone warming in the bullpen?” and someone said, “Yes, Rivera” and the person said, “Oh fuck me. I’m going to bed.”

It is so going to suck to not have that response from opposing teams’ fans.

John says:

he’s not going away for another 10 years

but seriously, it is going to suck. No matter who our next closer is and how good he is, he’s not going to be a Rivera. Mo’s saved us Yankees fans a lot of years for our lives and heart-attacks.

handtius says:

That is funny…and sad. I must be gay, I feel sadness.

Drew says:

Haha, JJ Putz sucks. love it

Jake says:

“No hit streak for you!” – Mo

LiveFromNewYork says:

Ah ha. Let’s put him in the outfield.

Jay says:

Is Mo bringing it 96????

V says:

Solid 93, 93, 93, 93, 93, 93, 93, 93.

He doesn’t change speeds. He doesn’t have to.

Jackson says:

Dear Mo,

Don’t reach for line drives with your bare hand

I love you,

Jackson

Mo does not hear you. Mo only hears those who speak to Him after He has addressed them.

You love another man? You homo-pansy.

/IronHorse’d

McCaff says:

He got hit by the ball. What an athletic move.

The YES gun is still set to “Joba” apparently – 97, 96 and 95 for Mo.

BklynJT says:

At least gameday has it correct. Joba topping out at 97 and Mo averaging 93. Fan Confidence++

When Mariano is ready to hang it up in, say, 10 years, I hope they play him in center field for a game.

I think my favorite Mo stat this year is the 26.0 K/BB ratio.

Bob Stone says:

It seems that way

BklynJT says:

I saw Mo at 97 and that had me doubting Joba’s velocity but I checked gameday and it had Mo at 93, and Joba earlier topping out at 97. I feel better now

V says:

97 in the 8th, baby.

Hair on the fastball.

I’m not even going there.

Jay says:

Mo throw the Folly Floater…

John says:

Is Mo a voted unanimously in for the HOF?

LiveFromNewYork says:

First ballot yes. Unanimously no. People hate the Yankees.

Wow, good eye by Choo. I would’ve been flailing at that shit.

leche: it does the yankees good says:

I got a question maybe a smarter baseball fan can answer for me.

What is the advantage of putting Cabrera (the better defensive outfielder) in LF as opposed to RF?

Wouldn’t you want the one with the stronger arm in RF to keep runners going from 1st to 3rd?

The only answer I have:

Swisher has been playing RF all season, he’s comfortable there. There’s a school of thought to not screw with a player’s comfort level too much.

Zack says:

That’s one way to look at it, but how is Swisher in left field? He played only 100 games in LF, i’m assuming theres a reason for that.

pat says:

There’s probably more ground to cover in LF. Covering ground>>>> throwing people out.

Matt M. says:

they probably just didnt wanna mess around with swisher more than anything else

leche: it does the yankees good says:

thanks – didn’t know if i was missing something or if it was just a comfort thing which it probably is.

Mo is just too terrific – What great fielding!!

yankeefan91 Arod fan says:

we have the longest streak without an error yayyyyyyyyyyy.

Pete says:

A win *and* we break a Red Sox record? BONUS!!!

Bob Stone says:

Hooray!!!! And it’s even sweeter because we wrested the record from the Red Sox!!!

Zack says:

isnt it sad that 17 games without an error is a record?

Doesn’t that illustrate just how crazy baseball really is?

I mean, Yankee Fans nowadays want perfection, and yet the big league record after like 125+ years of professional baseball of how long a team can go without screwing something up in a game is less than three weeks.

That should tell you something.

It is, but all it takes is one remotely homerish official scorer to screw it up.

Wow that was an awesome play. What a great way to end a great game.

LiveFromNewYork says:

It’s good to be on top of the errorless list again. MFers!

Lets flood Francesa with Joba meter questions…

LiveFromNewYork says:

YES Let’s all call up and just fucking annoy that fat bastard.

Tom Zig says:

Get me porcello’s last 5 starts! No one has eva hearda him!

pat says:

That was probably the best part of the whole rant because anybody who follows baseball like we do has known about Rick Porcello since he was in highschool.

Zack says:

Porcello? Wasnt he drafted in like the 27th round? Scouts were way down on him

pat says:

I hope ur joking homes.

Kid was one of the best talents in the draft. He signed for like 7 mil.

I think he’s being sarcastic since Francesa seemed to be oblivious to his being the top pitcher in that draft.

handtius says:

I believe he is making fun of Mike franchesca

pat says:

Ahh ok jokes on me then….
thats twice today, blah…
-pat

Zack says:

yes it was a joke.
Francesa always says Porcello is a guy “you’ve never heard of” when in reality, we all know how he fell in the draft due to signability and the Tigers picked up and paid him a ton (something that if the Yankees did the media would kill them, but since its Detriot it was a ’smart way of rebuilding’

handtius says:

I love the yankees, i’m gay.

LiveFromNewYork says:

I love them more. I’m gayer.

Who the guy on Southpark? Big gay Al? I’m him.

handtius says:

Nah, I’m gayer. I like roller-skates and Joba pitching 8 strong innings.

Drew says:

You know, the hardest part of roller-blading is telling your parents you’re gay.

handtius says:

Jackson says:

Great game all around, really enjoyable. Best part of the game, I’m just gonna throw this out there, Ironhorse. You pansies

What I love about RAB as much as anything else: How quickly we turn the belligerent rants and slurs of the idiots into humor, inside jokes, and memes.

UWS says:

Where did the gay meme come from? Earlier game thread or what?

I’m kinda sad I missed this.

I guess I’m a pansy.

handtius says:

shut up, faggot. I like ironhorse cock.

pat says:

faggot is a little harsh.

Jackson says:

THIS WAS IN POOR TASTE!!! REMOVE THIS POST!!!

I totally forgot to use that one, it’s time has past
