Steve H says:

I was expecting worse based on the title, like same hits and runs but in 2 innings.

Nah, it couldn’t have been that bad without Brackman pitching.

Accent Shallow says:

So Kennedy is allowed to fail against non-MLB competition? Huh. (On a serious note, I’m encouraged by all non-terrible pitching performances in the Fall League, and completely disregard the terrible ones, as well as just about all hitting results)

Mike, where had you been getting the AzFL pitchFX data? I’d tried Brooks Baseball when the league began, but there were some issues.

From Brooks, but they don’t have it for every game.

Remember when IPK was dueling with AJ Burnett in Toronto?

ahhh…good times.

Johan Iz My Brohan says:

Wow… Betemit, Mientkiewicz, Vizcaino and Britton… no comment on that.

But are you sure that is our IPK… 7 innings of 1 hit ball?

What a team. How is it they didn’t end up with rings?

BTW the 5th got IPK — walk, triple, pop up, double, then Dunn lets in an inherited runner and gets belted around. Maybe a better CF like Ajax hauls in one of those balls and he’s out of it.

Riddering says:

Molina doubled off of A.J.?

Betrayal five!

BrooklynPaulie says:

Was actually at this game. Kennedy looked really good through five. He seemed to abruptly hit a wall though. Maybe it’s an arm strength issue. Dunn looked like he was bringing it, but then got jacked by a lefty. Laird looked great with a single and a HR. Got to meet them all (also Ike Davis). They seem like humble dudes.

What is IPK’s FIP in the AzFL? He seems to have maintained an excellent K:BB ratio even thoguh he’s given up a lot of runs.

2.47. Only one homer and a 23-5 K/BB ratio in 24.2 IP.

Amol says:

That one home run allowed is pretty impressive for the AFL.
