Open Thread: Eagles at Cowboys

The Cowboys haven’t won a playoff game since Phil Hughes was ten years old. For reals. Enjoy the game.

  1. The Cowboys haven’t won a playoff game since before Bill Clinton asked what the definition of “is” is.

  2. Kevin G. says:

    Let’s hope it continues.

  3. Salty Buggah says:

    From Shayne Graham’s Wiki page:

“On January 9, 2010, Graham attempted suicide but he couldnt kick the chair.”

  4. Evilest Empire says:

NoMaas continues to mock the Red Sox better than anybody else.

  5. Accent Shallow says:

Is there a less likable group of people than Eagles fans? Blurst people.

  6. TOKYO – Tsutomu Yamaguchi, the only person officially recognized as a survivor of both the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings at the end of World War II, has died at age 93.

Yamaguchi was in Hiroshima on a business trip for his shipbuilding company on Aug. 6, 1945, when a U.S. B-29 dropped an atomic bomb on the city. He suffered serious burns to his upper body and spent the night in the city.

He then returned to his hometown of Nagasaki, about 300 kilometers (190 miles) to the southwest, which suffered a second U.S. atomic bomb attack three days later.

I’m not sure if the luckiest, or unluckiest man who ever lived.

  7. Check out Shayne Graham’s wikipedia page

  8. Salty Buggah says:

Anyone else want the Eagles to win, just so Philadelphia can face New York in a championship again and lose?

  9. Drew says:

Vick touches the ball 4 times.

    I go over.

  10. Master of all Trades says:

Hairston in serious talks with the Yanks? I like.

The Yankees are in serious talks with free agent utility man Jerry Hairston Jr., according to a tweet by ESPN’s Chris Singleton. New York has “serious interest” in Hairston, and would use him to spell Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez, as well as possibility platoon in left.

  11. Kevin G. says:

Is there anyway for both teams to lose?

  12. I think the winner of this game is the NFC representative to the SuperBowl. These are the two best teams in the conference, better than both of the bye teams (Saints and Vikings).

  13. Master of all Trades says:

Before these playoffs are said and done, I would love to see the Vikings play the Packers one more time this year.

  14. Drew says:

    Love me some Mike Vick.

  15. Drew says:

    My how the turntables have…

  16. As an ‘SC football player, I’m kinda selfish, and I would be hurt and disappointed with Pete Carroll if he left, because, you know, he’s preached to us for ten years about loyalty, and “it’s all about the team”, and “put the team first”, and “the Trojans first”.

If he was to go back and bite his tongue and erase what he said to us, it’d be hard for us to live with that, you know, we as a Trojan nation. Because we have put him in a position that, we love Pete Carroll and Pete Carroll is supposed to be our Trojan coach, you know, forever.

Kinda like Bobby was for Florida State.
    -LenDale White

    Two small comments, Mr. White:
1.) You left USC early to go to the draft. I’m not saying you were wrong for doing that, but keep that in mind when you talk about Pete Carroll not being “loyal” or not “putting the Trojans first”. That’s all I’m saying.
2.) It’s gonna be funny when the Titans cut you in the offseason and you go to the Seattle Seahawks–who should be in the market for FA runningback depth, mind you–looking for a job.

  17. This game is getting very uninteresting very quickly.

  18. Reggie C. says:

Not liking where this is going.

  19. Yeah, I think I may turn this off soon.

  20. Dalelama says:

It is amazing how awful McNabb and Eagles play against Cowboys but play great against Giants while Giants beat Cowboys twice

  21. The Eagles are just a barrel full of fail tonight.

  22. Drew says:

Example #2 why Fullbacks should just block.

  23. Ivan says:

rough night so far. My goodness.

  24. Master of all Trades says:

Anyone else catch George W. Bush in Jerry Jone’s box?

  25. Riddering says:

Well, this game is a giant clusterfuck for the Eagles.

  26. bonestock94 says:

Meh, why can’t they both just lose..

  27. Last 3 games in MLB 09: The Show: 10 for 11, 2 HR, 3 2B, 3B, 2 BB, 9 RBI. Maybe I should turn up the difficulty again.

  28. Reggie C. says:

I would actually rather root for the Boston area Patriots to beat the Cowboys in the Super Bowl should such a nightmare scenario come to pass.

  29. Tim says:

    How bout dem Cowboys?

I thought it was funny for the NY press to opine during the pre-season that the Giants had the best running game in the NFL in Jacobs and Bradshaw.

This is the Felix Jones we have been waiting for, now fully healthy, along with Marion Barber and Tashard Choice Dallas has a decent tandem.
