Yanks reassign Montero, three others

Via Marc Carig, the Yankees have reassigned Jesus Montero, Austin Romine, Colin Curtis, and Reid Gorecki to minor league camp. With the regulars playing more and more as the season draws closer, it was time for these four to head across to the street and get regular playing time. Curtis’ performance in particular was strong, but the Yankees already have four candidates for the leftfield job, so he was always a long shot.

Dustin Moseley and Jason Hirsh were both assigned to minor league camp earlier this morning.

Hopefully Curtis and Jesus keep wrecking.

It should be fun for those people in Scranton watching Jesus mash. Hopefully, he can spend the entire year in AAA and develop his bat more. He already has 1000 PA under his belt another 500 would be great.

I’m going to a game March 30 vs. the Braves in Orlando, I’m pretty sure it’ll be one of those split squad affairs. Does this mean Montero and Romine won’t be there, figured Jeter and most of the regulars would stay in Tampa… or could they come back up and play in those sort of games? Thanks in advance

The last week of Spring Training, your count on seeing the regular season players.

This relates to this post how? There is an open thread and there is an off-topic thread.

Tell him what he did wrong, Ben or Joe or Mike.

  6. Here’s to hoping Colin Curtis’ adjustments are reminiscent of the adjustments Ben Zobrist made last year.
