You must be PISSED: http://www.nydailynews.com/spo.....es_pl.html
I know I am.
There’s no way this shit is real.
what’s everyone upset about?
all the article says is some scouts think nunez can be another cano. and that cash is gonna wrap alex in bubble wrap and make him the DH in 2012.
That’s about as true as “Nick Swisher is going to be our first baseman in 2009.”
heh, from the side bar:
If there was one prime difference in the Yankees’ postseason this year and last year it was their vulnerability to lefthanded pitching. In that respect, can it now be said they missed Johnny Damon? Both Damon and Hideki Matsui (each free agents again this winter) were lefthanded hitters who never had a problem with lefty pitchers.
We beat Liriano and Wilson, both of who are really good lefties who are death to lefties. We beat Duensing, who’s also a lefty, even if he’s not on Liriano or Wilson’s level. We got our asses beat by Cliff Lee but the same thing happened in the first game of the World Series last year.

So guys, I’ve watchd only ONE basketball game ever and that was the Duke-Butler March Madness championship (great game, BTW), but I do have some basketball loyalties due to family, specifically to Duke and to the Nets.
With baseball season over and with me realizing I’ll go nuts with no team to root for (G-men only play once a week…not enough) I’m thinking of trying out basketball. As I said, I have a sort of quasi-royalty to the Nets because it runs in my family. But looking at thm right now I have to say that they’re boring aas shit and moving to Brooklyn won’t help that too much with another better NY team already in place.
So, in short, I’m thinking of becoming a Knicks fan because they have Amare (a comma goes somehwere in that name but IDK where) and a very good shot at gettng Carmelo before the year is out and they MIGHT, just might, slip in as the eighth seed, making them more exciting than the Nets will be for a good long while.
As new basketball/Knicks fan, what should I know about the sport and team that I don’t already?
Thanks guys.
I find basketball to be fascinating because of the intricacies of the game. The schemes (can be) incredible, and a well-coached team should be able to take any individual player completely out of the game. It’s comparable to football in that way, but with more than 10 minutes of action during the three hour broadcast. The Knicks probably aren’t the best place to go for the strategery (their opponents, maybe) but it might get better as the new players are integrated.
I think the Knicks are a low-seeded playoff team at the moment. They’ve actually looked pretty good, which is kind of shocking when you consider that their second best player (Gallinari) has scored all of 6 points this season, total. He has been dealing with a wrist injury that could potentially sink the ship, but let’s hope it improves as the season progresses.
And whatever you do, do not root for the Nets. That’s like becoming a Mets, Jets, or Devils fan. Even when they win, you lose.
I’m a Devils fan, and I don’t even get that comment. When they won they…won.
I was thrilled.
This is the first year tey’ve sucked in a good long while.
tey’ve should be they’ve.
Wow, gutsy call on the fake. It’ll be second guess city if they lose because of that, though it’s extremely unlikely this early in the game.
Whats with CBS? It is all paid programming and no football
Cause the Jets are on FOX.
Let’s show Britain the best that American sports has to offer!
Broncos vs. 49er’s!!
Wait, what?
Dallas closing in on other loss — soon to be 1-6 and 0-4 at home.
I never knew that a football game could be 3-0 in the third quarter. But that’s exactly what’s happening in the Jets-Packers game.
I didn’t know that the Jets and Packers were playing baseball today.
Brett Favre is a real prick

Nice to see that talent machine Dallas Cowgirl team doing so well today. Seriously next year they are going to have a new coach, probably Bill Cowher, and a top 10 pick. With what they have they might actually live up to their hype until then I’m sooo enjoying this.
You realize the team that plays across the street from the Cowboys eliminated our favorite team from the playoffs in a pretty authoritative fashion, right? And with Romo out the Cowboys will probably get a top five pick.
That team that got eliminated won the WS last year to go along with all the other fun they and the football Giants have given me I can live with it.
Yes they will have a top five pick to go along with all that 1 AND 6 talent they have and that right now means NOTHING.
Are you already predicting the 2012 Super Bowl Champion Cowgirls? That will go nicely with this year’s pre-season prediction.
Enjoy the rest of the Cowgirl season I know I will….LOL.
The Dolphins apparently have no idea where the endzone is. 5 field goals FTW!
Awesome. I just grabbed their kicker in fantasy this morning because my regular (Akers) had a bye.
Carpenter’s kicked 10 field goals in the last two weeks.
This Jets game has echoes of their Week 1 showing. Barf.
So many dropped passes makes me want to murder someone.
Yeah. Ug-ly.
And hey, there goes another one!
If only one or two of those passes were dropped, this is a completely different game.
Giants win 0-0
Yes, Sir love the Lions and the Jaguars’ beat down.
