I see no good reason to not do a chat, so we’ll set one up for this afternoon. Come back at 1 p.m and we’ll chat Yankees, Winter Meetings, Adrian Gonzalez, and just about anything else you can think of.
Poll question: If Albert Puljos was a FA today, and the Red Sox had gaping holes at DH and 1B, what would Theo Epstein offer him?
E: Nothing. Lars Anderson, baby.
F. Start Casey Kelly at first and have a 10 WAR player at first base.
G: 1/20 but tell him they need him to either DH or move to SS because every other position will be filled from within the system within the year.
On that subject I am shocked that the Red Sox followed through on their low balling of A-Gon. He is an equal if not slightly better than Tex and not to offer something like 7/150 and stick with 6/120 with the way this market has been is an insult.
But AGon “has always wanted to be a Red Sox” and should feel PRIVILEGED to be a member of the nation.
Forget it. See if Agon can play 3rd, and we’ll pick him up next year.
