Cashman: Jeter could ramp up rehab today
ByVia Conor Orr, Brian Cashman said there’s a chance that Derek Jeter will ratchet up his rehab from a calf injury today to include “more functional stuff.” All Jeter has done so far is throw and get treatment, so I assume “functional stuff” includes some running and hitting. There’s a pretty good chance the Cap’n will need more than just the minimum 15 days on the disabled list, especially since calf problems can linger for a while. He’s eligible come off the DL on Wednesday.

I’m sure whatever the decision, Jeter will do what’s best for the team. Certain of it.
And I’m sure he’ll say bat me eighth Joe.
yep he always has !
The team of Derek, army of one.
For the few of you who have not read it yet, recommended: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06.....thday.html
My favorite passage:
“Rivera has been Jeter’s teammate for 17 years, since 1995, when they both broke into the big leagues. “He’s doing good now,” Rivera said. “I mean, guys like that, they always find a way. All the years he’s been here, you don’t just stop doing what you’re doing in one year or two years. It doesn’t happen like that.””
Hopefully it doesn’t happen to Mo
That’s a great article. Thanks for the link.
Great article.
Holy shit. Einstein published the Theory of Relativity when he was 26?
/feels bad
He can’t run, hit, or field. Even when he gets healthy that will probably continue.
Nice performance today by the two hitters at the top of the lineup. Three hits, two walks, a stolen base, one ribbie, four runs scored. They are capable of even more than that, but pretty decent. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Just because this is the best place to post this for now:

Team is 8-3 w/o jeter
They lost 3 games? They suck.
In all seriousness, Nunez does suck. Can’t wait for Jeter to come back.
what this team needs right now is a leadoff hitter with a .592 OPS vs rightys.
Every single comment section about any article having to do with Jeter is not at all repetitive.
amazing how the comment sections on any article on Jeter are not at all repetitive
i just hope the Yanks do the right thing and go out and get the best short stop they can next year…let Jeter get his 3000 hits and then bench him or release him if he becomes a problem…
