Game 161: FTL

MLB has announced that Game One of the ALDS will begin at 8:37pm ET on Friday. We still don’t know who the Yankees will play (either the Tigers or Rangers), but at least now we know when they’ll play. That game will be broadcast on TBS, as will the rest of the ALDS.

Does this mean that game 2 will most likely have the same start time? I have tix to that game.

If I were a betting man, I’d say yes…but no announcement yet. It could be 7:37PM ET, if it isn’t 8:37.

    • Jesus Freak

I imagine it’ll be an earlier start time on a Saturday.

    • Cuso

it will be either 4:3(7) or 7:3(7) on a Saturday.

Probably the earlier start time because they get the later time slot in G1. They always alternate which teams get the prime time slot.

      Bet on 4:3(7)

Not necessarily. On Saturday all four games are played. Since it’s the Yankees, TBS is going to want to put them on prime-time. And a 4pm start could be considered more ‘prime’ than 8:30.

    • CountZero

Working for Nielsen I can tell you with some certainty that if 4pm is ever considered to be more prime than 8pm or 9pm, a certain non-kosher meat mammal will rule the skies.

    • Cuso

Don’t know what series you’ve watched, but Ron Darling and TBS are no fans of the Yankees. They’ve bled for the Twins the last two seasons.

Yanks will get the late start for Game 1, but near definite earlier start for G2.

  • Tyrion Lannister

The Yankees will be on last as they are the biggest draw.

WAT! -.- so late! oh wells. Im going to the game!! :) u guys know if section 320 is good?

    • Corporate Scum

Ja, the ’20s are directly behind home plate. Ur in the third deck.

  • Ranger Fan

TBS has published the following start times for the 4 games on Saturday: noon, 3:30, 7:00, and 10:30. All Eastern times. MLB is probably slotting the games now. I have tickets to the Rangers/Rays game in Texas. With no west coast home teams, someone has to be the late game and I’m afraid it might be us…
