Yankees sign Jason Bulger
ByThe Yankees have signed right-hander Jason Bulger to a minor league deal, the team announced. The 33-year-old was released by the Twins not too long ago after giving up ten runs in four Spring Training innings. The former Angel is low-90s fastball type with both a slider and a changeup. Bulger’s career strikeout (9.34 K/9 and 24.2 K%) numbers are great, but not his walk (5.08 K/9 and 13.1 BB%) and ground ball (40.5%) rates aren’t anything special. Just some more Triple-A fodder.

April Fools?
‘Bulger’ would be a good name for a porn star.
Dick Bulger.
hahahaha I lol’d
Bulger? I hardly know her.
I really wasn’t going to post that, but Steve had to go there.
Another useless scrub. The only way he gets a start is the whole aaa and double a get injured. But as we all know cashman loves other teams throw aways.
Because, you know, minor league depth is worthless.
I know, right? Why cant teams release someone good?! I mean, its not like we have had any luck with pitchers that we think are worthless or past their prime becoming any sort of help for this team…geez!
eesh, first off hes a reliever, so you are right he probably wont get a start. Second, you really have an issue with Cashman signing a guy to pitch out of the bullpen to fill out the AAA roster?
Any relation to Whitey Bulger?
yeah i gotta a fn issue with the sign its bulshit no need for it its just another yaahoo in the way of the young guys geez figure it out
Lol. Who in the AAA bullpen is he going to be in the way if?
Hey guys, Jason is a friend of mine, great guy who will work hard for your club. If you recall back a couple of years to the ALCS he pitched against you – made Swisher look silly with his overhand curve (remember that is right hander to lefty bat), but did give up a dinger to ARod. He won’t replace the sandman, but he can help add depth to the bullpen, be a solid bridge guy when a starter blows it early and isn’t that all you can ask for a league minimum guy?
