Memorial Day Open Thread

The Yankees open their three-game series with the Angels in a few hours (at 9pm ET to be precise), so here’s your open thread for the meantime. There will be some NBA playoff stuff going on a little later and although there’s no baseball on the national networks, there’s a few games going on if you have MLB.tv or Extra Innings or something. Talk about whatever you like here, go nuts.

Ugh. Is it June 23 yet?
What’s June 23?
My first day of unemployment.
But at this point I’m calling it my first day of freedom.
Why are you looking forward to unemployment?
Heh. That’s something of a tale.
Because I’m pretty much sick of my job after 6 1/2 years, I’m going to get a decent severance package, and I’ll be able to collect unemployment.
My job has just worn me down, especially the last 2 years. I was about to start looking around when they gave us our notice.
At this point I’m looking to just unwind over the summer while I figure out what to do from here.
Good for you. One of the best decisions of my life was quitting my going-nowhere job, and though you don’t get the pleasure of quitting, it works pretty much the same. Onwards and upwards!

For father’s day this year (which I normally take my dad to a Yankee game) I got us Old Timer’s day seats. This will be our first time ever attending the event. Any good stories from anyone who has been before?

Thanks, this has been a tradition of ours going on 4 or so years. I grew up in upstate NY, but now live in southern Maryland. Usually we go to some giveaway weekend, and Cooperstown, but decided to switch it up a bit this year.
The Orioles are terrible.
What inspired that comment? I haven’t been watching their game.
Just made a few really stupid plays. Runner at second got picked off by the catcher and then they had an error on an easy play right before a homer. Also attempted to bunt in an inning where the pitcher walked three guys.
Looking forward to them sucking again.
Remember, they are a younger team and that stuff just happens. I’m still not writing them off yet.
Also Matt Wieters is making dicks soft in Baltimore right now. In a 2 for 30-something slump.
