Update: Robertson unavailable due to sore ribcage, tests tomorrow

11:42pm: Robertson will in fact go for tests tomorrow. Good, let’s see exactly what’s going on and deal with it.

11:12pm: Following tonight’s game, Joe Girardi confirmed that David Robertson was unavailable due to a sore ribcage and said he may be sent for tests tomorrow. Robertson first felt it after Friday’s game and it’s lingered, so there is some concern. Hopefully it’s not an oblique issue (though that seems inevitable), that could take some time to heal. What a terrible night on the injury front.

    This is getting ridiculous.

  2. Drew says:

    well that answers my question.

  3. Kevin says:

Seriously, how many more injuries can we get?!

  4. Rey22 says:

Wow, 4 players down in one night. That’s crazy.

I think Soriano should close. He’s done it before and done it well, it would give him a tremendous emotional lift. When Robertson gets healthy again I’d slot him right back to the 8th where he was the best in baseball last year. Logan and Wade have been fine in the seventh. If Robertson’s down Wade goes to the 8th and Soriano the 9th. Joe’s getting thin with all the injuries but the Yanks are playing better.

  6. MB says:

    What the hell!!

Nova, Rapada, Ibaneez and now Robertson!

Who goes tomorrow? (Well of coures I hope no one, but Martin if anybody, he’s TERRIBLE right now)

    • Cuso says:

I don’t care about Martin’s bat (his ABs have been getting better anyway).

We lose him from behind the plate, we’re toast.

      • Havok9120 says:

Yeah, nobody seems to consider that he’s the only reasonably balanced catcher we have in the organization right now with Romine down.

  7. Tony says:

Nobody is safe. Wrap every Yankee in several layers of bubble wrap to avoid more injuries

  8. RetroRob says:

Call up Mitchell, call up Warren, call up Manny, call up Campos, call up whomever they’re drafting next month!!!!!
