Pettitte’s hand bruised after barehand play, x-rays negative
ByAndy Pettitte has a bruise on his left hand after bare-handing a one-hopper in the sixth inning of this afternoon’s game. He remained in the game and retired the next two batters, though he was in noticeable discomfort. X-rays were negative and Pettitte expects to make his next start. Thanks to Thursday’s scheduled day off, he’ll get a little more rest than usual.

I think you mean Pettitte’s left hand unless he was pulling a Venditte out there today.
And…exhale…
So Hughes is lined up for Friday?
I’m not rocket scientist so correct me if I am wrong but I believe it would be impossible for Andy Pettite to have a bruise on his right hand after he barehanded the ball because Andy Pettite is lefthanded.
PHEW.
Mike fatigues as the day wears on. Once he gets up over 110 pitches, he needs a fresh set of eyes to proofread his posts.
Just bite the bullet and do the Tommy John surgery. Why put it off?
I was at the game – the SOUND of the ball hitting Andy’s hand as he caught it… holy crap. Glad he’s okay.
