Teixeira not in lineup today, expects to play tomorrow
ByMark Teixeira (calf) once again ran sprints and the bases this afternoon, but the Yankees are going to hold him out of the lineup at least one more day. “They don’t want me to play today,” he said to Bryan Hoch, and it seems like the club is giving him the proverbial “one extra day” before sticking him back in the lineup. The Yankees miss their first baseman most against left-handed pitching, and tonight will be Teixeira’s tenth consecutive game out of the lineup.

Man. The 2nd half of the season sucks ass this year. I expected the complete opposite. Hopefully he comes back soon and healthy. They need all the help they can get right now, and it doesn’t look good at all.
What do they know? They’re the ones that have gotten us into this mess! If Teix wants to play let him play. 1st place is on the line and they’re babying Teixera like he’s Steven Strasburg. LET HIM PLAY
Calf injuries are pretty easy to irritate without the proper care. It’s better to let him sit one or two more games and have him come back healthy than not have him come back at all.
Trade Tex for Fielder.
Are you high? Everyone knows that isn’t happening unless we throw in Cervelli and Nunez. And that ain’t happening.
If we throw them in though we could also get Austin Jackson back. Cash do it now!
You’re high too. Cabrera all the way.
You guys are being ridiculous.
We clearly need to throw in John Maine so we get Verlander.
If this doesn’t happen I’m becoming a Red Sox fan.
THOSE GUYS know how to run an organization.
I assume it’s Doctor Syrio Forel?
Technically, it’s Dr Eddard Syrio Forel.
Asked this question in the previous thread by why is A-Rod DHing for the second day in a row when Jeter (ankle), Cano (hip), and Granderson (hamstring) could use a half day?
Seems really stupid to question this. Girardi has infinitely more knowledge of the situation than you or I. Only he knows how banged up all those guys are and he decided ARod most needs the half day off. Unless you’re in the locker room and talked to the players you can’t possibly have the basis to question the move.
yeah, agreed. i know everyone is frustrated and girardi is the scapegoat that requires the least amount of thought, but this is a pretty big reach for a complaint.
This is far, far, far too sane an answer for this blog.
But tell the truth…
Do you really think Girardi knows more about the players health then WE do???
more than us? absolutely. more than brian s? thats completely different.
LOLOLOLOLOLOL dude I wish I was as cool as you.
Didn’t you just spend the last six weeks saying A-Rod should be the full-time DH because his numbers are so much better there than at 3B?
why ask? hes not going to answer.
Oops, guess I did. :/
1) youve definitely been saying it for this year
2) you only did out of spite after seeing my comment
i win.
I have been saying that for next year, which I still stand by.
Tex? For his D maybe. Otherwise, he’s all glove, no bat .255/.335
It’s enough to see Swisher flailing at off speed pitches in the dirt. Swish doesn’t need an accomplice.
Then there’s his postseason numbers (4 years 7 series) .207/.315
When’s his contract up? 2050? Jeez.
Steve Pearce is much better.
Caught in your favorite fallacy my friend: the straw man. I never said we had anyone else. My point is that instead of paying outrageous salaries for a buttload of years to players who underproduce, the FO might want to think of another way field their team.
I think you may have mistaken sarcasm for an argument.
I know. Need Hitting and I have exchanged sarcasm/straw man arguments in the past.
Sam Pearce is even better.
