  1. Kevin G. says:

    WooHoo!!!! Spillover threads return!!!!!

  2. forensic says:

    Cal says: Nate knew it.

Um, I think tossing the bat and reaching down to take off his shin pad says he clearly didn’t know it.

  3. I love spillover threads.

  4. Get Phelps Up says:

I love how TBS has gone to a first name only basis to refer to all Orioles players.

  5. The horseshoe up Buck Showalters Ass says:

    Abomb please

  6. Eddard reboot v.1.0 says:

Hammel’s been wild. 3rd time through the order. Finish him.

  7. Cy Pettitte says:

stop cheering when Hammel comes up and in at their heads, stupid fans.

  8. Total Dominication says:

Cheering when a guy almost gets hit in the head? Stay classy O’s fans.

  9. Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

Wow. O’s fans are douches. Second time they cheered for a pitch like that.

  10. JLC 776 says:

Okay, third time through, good swings in the last two innings… if the Yankees don’t score in this inning, I’m punching myself in the testicles.

    Yup.

  11. Brian S. says:

    Let’s go A-Rod

  12. The horseshoe up Buck Showalters Ass says:

    Alex just missing

  13. Hall and Nokes says:

Alex is what now, 42? 43?

  14. Joe says:

These balls are right down the middle.

  15. Karl Krawfid says:

Cano is just swinging and swinging.

    Hopefully he hits something hard.

  16. forensic says:

Ugh, Cano’s in ‘swing at every pitch that leaves the pitcher’s hand’ mode.

  17. Brian S. says:

Last two at-bats Robbie has swung at like eight consecutive pitches outside of the zone.

  18. Anthony says:

We need the runs now before we get to their bullpen.

  19. Chilango Adoptivo says:

ARod is just plain awful. Joe doesn’t have the stones to sit him

    • Brian S. says:

He’s the only one working counts. Not sure what game you are watching.

    • Get Phelps Up says:

Yeah because Jayson Nix is such a better option…

      • jjyank says:

I’m guessing he’s thinking Chavez…but yeah. Are we seriously going to blame a manager for not sitting A-Rod? Is there a single manager in all of baseball that would do that? DO NO MANAGERS HAVE ANY STONES???

        *shrug*

  20. Robbie is swinging at absolutely everything tonight.

  21. The Real Greg says:

Again, either Hammel has some late life on his fastball or his delivery is deceiving because it seems everybody is late on his fastball.

  22. JLC 776 says:

Very disappointed in Robbie. I’ve been worried all week the break would break him. Please prove me wrong next AB….

  23. Need Pitching & Hitting says:

Good to see Robbie trying to get himself out….smfh.

  24. MannyGeee says:

garbage time is all the time in October!

  25. The Real Greg says:

    And that’s it for Hammel.

  26. Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

Swish can’t do anything in the post season

Swisher: okay I’ll just get on the first 3 times I come up this year.

  27. The horseshoe up Buck Showalters Ass says:

    Lets hammer them now

  28. Adam says:

Is really early, I know…but any desire to run Gardner for Swisher here?

  29. forensic says:

Very very disappointing performance by the offense against Hammel. Now they have to do it against their very good bullpen. Kinda sucks…

  30. MannyGeee says:

Dear Tex & Grandy: Time to be a boss against LHP again…

    Regards-

    JLC 776′s testicles

  31. Alkaline says:

Well, 2 on. Let’s go. One more hit.

  32. The horseshoe up Buck Showalters Ass says:

    Granderson this is your moment

  33. Monterowasdinero says:

When did ARod hit HR # 17 this year?

    He.has.no.power.

  34. Get Phelps Up says:

Why did they bring in a sidewinding LHP against Tex?

  35. Brian S. says:

I thought Mastuz was their LOOGY?

  36. Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

I think it might be time to break out the scotch.

  37. Adam says:

YOu have got to be effin kidding me.

  38. Need Pitching & Hitting says:

    Stupid odd ballpark configuration.

  39. The Real Greg says:

    See what I mean? Luck

  40. Pete says:

    Are.

    You.

    Serious?

  41. Ethan says:

    Fuck you camden yards

  42. The horseshoe up Buck Showalters Ass says:

Thats gone in our bandbox stadium

  43. As the ball disappears from view, where the wall angle changes…

    Can’t make this shit up.

  44. Cy Pettitte says:

I hate that corner, wtf is that random cutout? seems like every series they play one lands there perfectly for the Orioles.

    • Tom Q says:

I was going to say, I’ve never seen foul ground so weirdly placed, and they get a key out from it.

  45. MannyGeee says:

that sucked. why would they make that little closet nook in play? shitty

  46. Adam says:

    He literally wasn’t even looking.

  47. Cocolicious says:

Fucking inferior teams catching all the breaks

  48. AnthonyD says:

Literally doing it w/ their eyes closed

  49. The Real Greg says:

Everything’s going their way. You can’t stop luck or destiny

  50. JLC 776 says:

At least I’ve been drinking since 6pm…

  51. Dan says:

Seems like Murphy’s Law against the Yanks tonight.

  52. David N says:

So it’s going to one of these stress-filled games, I guess….

  53. Karl Krawfid says:

Cano, Robbie, and A-Rod have yet to show up.

Swish and Tex, outside of his base running mistake, have.

This is a huge inning for CC.

  54. Chilango Adoptivo says:

Greg may be right. We’re not getting many breaks ….yet. But ARod still sucks. I’d like to see Chavez get a shot

  55. The Real Greg says:

See he caught it without looking at it.

  56. MannyGeee says:

that is just an insane little cubby. just nuts

  57. MannyGeee says:

silver lining alert… although the bats went to sleep after the 1st inning, CC is sitting on 67 pitches through 6.1. Thats pretty awesome

  58. Tom says:

No fastballs here CC (at least in the zone)

  59. MannyGeee says:

i could almost feel the hanging slider before it got thrown

  60. The Real Greg says:

There’s another hit off the end of the bat.

    • Chilango Adoptivo says:

Greg I think we got it. God hates the Yankees, the universe is statistically motivated to screw us out of our just WS rings. Or maybe…it’s baseball with all its weird, SSS statistical anomalies and ups and downs. Enough already.

  61. Need Pitching & Hitting says:

    God dammit Jeter.

  62. jjyank says:

    God damn it.

  63. The Real Greg says:

    And a funny hop.

Come on guys, this is too obvious

  64. MannyGeee says:

    Jeter. No range.

    oh wait

  65. Jeter has no range, but he’s surehanded.

And when he’s doing that, he’s completely worthless out there.

  66. Adam says:

    Man, gotta charge that.

  67. forensic says:

Geez Jeter, if you’re not going to get to anything more than 6 inches away from you, at least make the plays on the ones hit right to you.

  68. Get Phelps Up says:

    No closeup of that?

  69. Pat D says:

    Shoulda gone to first, Cap’n.

  70. Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

Micheal Kay: “Jeter might not have the best range, but he never makes a mistake on a ball hit to him”

I can hear it in my head.

    • handtius says:

It is a rarity. That pop up he dropped, wasn’t that the only one in his career?

    • SammySosasBleachingCream says:

He makes at least 5 very simple, obvious errors per year. On easy plays hit right at him. He also makes the occasional mistake on the basepaths.
Jeter’s good enough without the sainthood treatment.

  71. MannyGeee says:

thank god. that was getting sticky

  72. But no harm done.

    Score some fucking runs, already.

  73. Pete says:

Anyone else waiting for Cal to whip off his headphones and start outright rooting…?

  74. Adam says:

Wow, got away with a hanger there.

PS, for anyone expecting an easy series, these two teams have been so tight against each other year, it seems logical that we’ll have a tight one.

  75. jjyank says:

Thanks, CC. The Jeter play only cost him one more pitch, so you are forgiven. Now, how about some mother fucking runs on this mother fucking plane game?

  76. Cy Pettitte says:

76 pitches through 6. score some runs so CC can lock this thing down please.

  77. Ethan says:

Alright let’s put up some runs!

  78. Karl Krawfid says:

    Step it up Yankee offense.

CC has been pitching his ass of for you.

  79. VT Yankee Fan says:

CC is pitching a hell of a game. If thay had scored a few more we’d be able to appreciate it.

  80. MannyGeee says:

    crooked # plz

  81. handtius says:

damn, yall got on jetes quick. it happens.

  82. Brian S. says:

    Russ going deep calling it.

  83. The horseshoe up Buck Showalters Ass says:

Come on blackhole get a hit

  84. The Real Greg says:

If they pinch hit for Ibanez, they’ll bring in O’day to face the right handed hitter

  85. Adam says:

    Wow, excellent at bat.

  86. Get Phelps Up says:

    Ibanez bunt? crazy?

  87. James A says:

TBS announcement: Crew not unbalanced enough, John Smoltz will be replaced starting tomorrow with –
    http://www.masnsports.com/imag.....e-Bird.jpg

  88. MannyGeee says:

Patton has 15 pitches through .2IP, CC has 72 through 6.

  89. Tom says:

    Really?

  90. Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

    …Raul is hitting for himself?Q

  91. Effthisnoise says:

    Great ab by martin

  92. jjyank says:

Patton’s control seems to be off. He missed the spots Weiters set up for on almost every pitch in the Martin AB. Please, let’s make him pay.

  93. Total Dominication says:

    Pinch hit Nunez!

  94. Ethan says:

Why do they look at Buck every time there’s semi-questionable play but they never look at girardi.

  95. The horseshoe up Buck Showalters Ass says:

    Why ibanez here? No nunez

  96. Dan says:

Why is ibanez hitting right now?

    • Dan in Athens says:

O’Day was ready. Binder said Ibanez v. lefty was better than Nunez v. the righty. Binder says bunt now. The Binder is frustrating.

  97. The Real Greg says:

Will all of you asking look at my post. Thay had O’Day warming

  98. MannyGeee says:

wow, hear a pin drop in Camden now, huh

  99. Joe F says:

    IBANEZ AHHHH! STOP IT. WTF.

  100. Brian S. says:

Fucking swinging at ball four Ibanez…

  101. Need Pitching & Hitting says:

    Ugghh…take the walk.

  102. Cy Pettitte says:

    good job Raul

  103. Joe F says:

    You’re forgiven.

  104. The Real Greg says:

And in the end, the lefty walked him

  105. Wow. Excellent PA from Raul, especially against a LHP.

  106. Get Phelps Up says:

Well that’s good. Now Jeter’s going to bunt though…

  107. Need Pitching & Hitting says:

    Jeter bunt.

  108. Joe says:

    Small ball. DO IT.

  109. Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

Raul working this 6 ball walk, that’s impressive.

  110. Adam says:

Two great at bats. For the complaints here on the Yanks’ hitting tonight, their approach has actually been great. The hits will come.

  111. Dan in Athens says:

    The Binder says to bunt.

  112. Eddard reboot v.1.0 says:

Great walks there by both Martin coming back from 0-2 and Raul vs the lefty. Jeter should bunt. Let Ichiro put the ball in play vs the righty, O’Day. You don’t want Jete hitting into a DP.

  113. Kevin G. says:

Jeter’s going to bunt… and everybody is going to absolutely fli[ their shit

  114. Jonathan says:

lucked out on that one ladies and gentlemen. I definitely bunt the king of GIDP’s here this late in a playoff game. Especially with a righty probably coming in.

  115. forensic says:

Is this tailormade for a Jeter ‘on his own’ bunt or what? Time to give away an out.

    • Need Pitching & Hitting says:

I think Girardi will call it.

    • forensic says:

On second thought, maybe it’s not such a bad idea at this point in the game. My bad, jumped the gun a bit.

Would be cool if they did walk Ichiro and A-Rod somehow played the hero.

  116. Total Dominication says:

If Jeter tries to bunt, I will drive down to Baltimore and beat him.

  117. The Real Greg says:

Jeter bunts here and leaves it up to Ichiro. I wonder if Buck will bring in Matusz to face Ichiro or let O’Day do it.

  118. JLC 776 says:

Stop hating on Raul. Unless the O’s literally bring in Harry Potter, the guy has saved the season twice in the last couple of weeks.

  119. Patrick says:

This announcing teams so blatantly angling their commentary in favor of the Orioles. It’s infuriating.

  120. James A says:

Not a sacrifice proponent, but Jeter better be laying one down. Would it be worth it to pinch run Nunez for Ibanez if he gets to second, two runs would be a lot better than one?

  121. Eddard reboot v.1.0 says:

Jeter should bunt here vs the righty. Get that winning run to 3rd. We’re getting late enough in the game that our pen is set up if CC can give us one more. Ichiro can put the ball in play vs O’Day.

  122. Please no GIDJ here, please.

  123. MannyGeee says:

are those people in the Dish Hopper Commercials somebody? I feel like they want me to laugh, but I am not sure if I am missing an inside joke or if its just a bunch of jackoffs with Providence accents.

  124. Joe says:

For the love of god please No GIDP

  125. Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

Would be completely okay with Jeter bunting.

  126. Tom says:

    Balk… he has to stop.

  127. jay says:

    good luck bunting that delivery

  128. The horseshoe up Buck Showalters Ass says:

    Aubrey oday pitching?

  129. Need Pitching & Hitting says:

    That was fucking awful Captain.

  130. Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

    Wow Derek…

  131. forensic says:

Pulls back the bunt on the pitch down the middle then goes after one 2 feet outside… Terrible, but lucky he got it down with 2 strikes.

  132. The horseshoe up Buck Showalters Ass says:

    Capt gettin it done

  133. The Real Greg says:

Derek has cajones to bunt with two strikes

  134. Ballsy decision by Jeter there.

    Get these runs home.

  135. Get Phelps Up says:

    Good job w 2 strikes!

  136. Effthisnoise says:

    Wow, gutsy

  137. MannyGeee says:

sweet 2 strike bunt. hot damn

  138. Dan in Athens says:

Let’s see if Buck goes big swinging dick and does the right thing by walking Ichiro and setting up his righty ground baller for a DP v. ARod.

  139. Jonathan says:

how the fuck did he make it that close of a play when he had to carry his giant balls down the line in a wheelbarrow?

  140. Total Dominication says:

Did Derek Jeter just bunt with 2 strikes? The guy who’s leading MLB in hits by a mile?

    • whozat says:

That was an all-around awful at bat. Unless he knows that he has NO idea what’s coming out of O’Day’s hand.

  141. Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

strike zone against lefties is getting wider and wider.

  142. forensic says:

Ok Ichiro and/or A-Rod. Gotta get the job done here!

  143. Tom says:

I’m amazed Machado was actually in on that with 2 strikes – off the bat I thought it was a single.

  144. The horseshoe up Buck Showalters Ass says:

    Thats a strike ?

  145. Pasta Stumbling Sojo says:

Wow. Not sure what to think about that at bat.

  146. Ivan says:

    Lets go Ichiro!

  147. Chilango Adoptivo says:

    Plate them

  148. Joe says:

Do ichiro we all know what arod will do

  149. Athenian says:

    The dreaded RISP….

  150. whozat says:

    FFFUUUU

  151. Yay for not getting the job done.

    Unreal.

  152. Preston says:

Two on, no outs. Let’s have one of the all time greatest players bunt. GENIUS!!! FML!

  153. Cy Pettitte says:

hit hard but right at someone. of course.

  154. The Real Greg says:

And of course, hit RIGHT AT THE SECOND BASEMAN

  155. Need Pitching & Hitting says:

    For fuck’s sake.

  156. JobaWockeeZ says:

Even when he’s on base he sucks.

  157. forensic says:

    Damnit Ichiro!

And slide away from the catcher Martin, not toward him.

  158. Ethan says:

    COME ON !!!!!

  159. Ivan says:

That Bunt by Jeter sure helped..smh…

  160. MannyGeee says:

wow… right at Andino. woulda been nice if Russell slid under that tag though

  161. Joe says:

Oh. Well nice try on to the 8th

  162. Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

HOW MANY FUCKING TIMES ARE WE GOING TO DO THAT!!! Make sure the ball is THROUGH!!! Martin is LOOKING at the second baseman.

  163. Tom says:

Bad slide by Martin there. (almost looked like he was thinking about running him over)

  164. Chilango Adoptivo says:

out by s mile. Yanks running themsleves out of the gsme.Fuck this

  165. Kevin G. says:

Alright ARod, this is where you earn your pinstripes… again

  166. Effthisnoise says:

Wow for a second i almost forgot i was watching the yanks

  167. The Real Greg says:

I mean how obvious is this people?

  168. forensic says:

Come on A-Rod!!! Be the hero!

  169. Athenian says:

Even in the playoffs. RISP fail. Another inning of no runs.

  170. Get Phelps Up says:

    No swing there…

  171. MannyGeee says:

Angel Hernandez can suck a dick

  172. Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

Fucking Hernandez with that shit eating smirk

  173. Jonathan says:

we need an O’s lucky dink here

  174. MannyGeee says:

A Rod is praying for that walk.

  175. Joe says:

You just know these orange clowns will score with some shitty bloops.

  176. Need Pitching & Hitting says:

    Just fucking awful.

  177. That inning was a microcosm of both teams’ seasons.

    Fuck.

  178. Total Dominication says:

    Fucking bunts.

  179. jm says:

we’re the veteran team that’s been here a million times right? I couldn’t tell by the baserunning.

  180. MannyGeee says:

    balls.

  181. Joe F says:

    Bunch of unlucky idiots.

  182. forensic says:

Terrible AB, terrible inning, terrible offensive performance all game basically.

  183. The Real Greg says:

Break after break has gone their way tonight. It’s so obvious.

  184. Ivan says:

    Dat sux

  185. jjyank says:

Fuck that inning. And if I EVER hear about a pitcher’s “frisbee” ever again, I will kill someone.

  186. Eddard reboot v.1.0 says:

Pathetic. The Orioles have walked man after man and they only have 2 runs to show for it. Get a clutch hit.

  187. whozat says:

I don’t know why I even thought they might score.

  188. Jonathan says:

    this is just digusting

  189. Karl Krawfid says:

    Fucking choke.

  190. Electric nunez says:

    Keep grinding CC

  191. ARod says:

Sorry guys. I’ll get a hit next time. I promise.

  192. Chilango Adoptivo says:

Yeah let’d keep hitting ARod 3rd.

  193. Mike Axisa says:

Three pretty terrible at-bats by the vets there.

  194. Effthisnoise says:

The rispf will not hold up in the playoffs, esp with the oriols record in close and extra inning games.

  195. Matt says:

This game would be pretty much over if not for the inability of this team to do the simplest things on offense.

Inexcusable baserunning blunders, the inability to hit a lazy fly ball. It’s the same story almost every night with this team.

Unless they hit home run after home run, they simply cannot get these easy runs home. It’s just stunning.

  196. Ethan says:

Get AROD the fuck out of the lineup. I want Chavez!

  197. Captain Gift Basket says:

    Choke jobs.

  198. The Real Greg says:

The baseball gods love the Orioles this year. If this game and all of the machinations in don’t scream that at you, I don’t know what your watching.

    • Athenian says:

Um baseball Gods have nothing to do with the ineptness of this team when runners are in scoring position. It is just extreme failure by over hyped and over paid players who cannot execute the simplest of tasks.

    • Tom says:

That’s not the game screaming at you, it’s the voice in your head.

      Up the dosage.

    • Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

The belief in (baseball) gods is silly.

  199. Athenian says:

    My God! Fucking pathetic.

  200. dalelama says:

Old Purple Lips doing what he does best—choking in the clutch.

  201. Knoxvillain says:

Still can’t get a hit when they need to. The season was over before it started.

  202. JLC 776 says:

Back to the heart of the lineup having none.

  203. Get Phelps Up says:

    11 baserunners and 2 runs…smh.

  204. Monterowasdinero says:

Remember everyone-ARod has ended our last two seasons with a K.

    He sucks.

    Bat him 3rd?

    Change is hard.

  205. Knoxvillain says:

Girardi needs to be fired if he bats A-Rod third again tomorrow. I’d fire his ass right before the game. I hate him more and more everyday.

  206. DZ says:

The only team that could fuck up 2nd and 3rd with one out with 2-3-4 coming up is the 2012 yankees

  207. Bartolo's Colon says:

lew ford, robert andino, nate mclouth, might as well be ruth, williams and bonds

  208. marc says:

Thinks it time to bat arod in the 7th 8th or even 9th spot….. this guy comes up to plate with free rbis and he chokes everytime

  209. The Real Greg says:

Next year, the Yankees need to have more average hitters who can put the ball in the play. They also need more speed.

  210. Get Phelps Up says:

Don’t let this get to extras.

  211. Rob G says:

Arod is an automatic out – Girardi needs to move him down in the order

  212. MannyGeee says:

Breaking news from Baltimore, some skank just made out with the Oriole mascot.

  213. Effthisnoise says:

And here comes the bottom of the line up, goodbye tie

  214. Eddard reboot v.1.0 says:

And we’ve been saying it all season, come October you won’t hit 4 solo HRs off quality pitching. You have to find other ways to score. That includes sound baserunning and clutch hitting with RISP. They’ve had neither.

  215. pistol pete says:

How the fuck many games are we going to sit around and watch our 36 yr old players past their prime get at bats in front of Cano who sat in the on deck circle with his finger up his ass while our overpaid past their prime all stars fuck the game up. ARod looked like a rank amateur with that at bat and I hate our top hitter all yr bunting leaving a big inning to a singles hitter and another who’s does fucking nothing all year with his bloated 27m salary, Girardi sucks. let Cano hit third.

    • Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

Nobody’s making you watch. I’m sure your remote is on the arm of your chair, right next to the list of players the yankees should trade for as well as the line up card you fill out every game.

    • Monterowasdinero says:

Been saying this all year. Best hitter must bat in the first inning. No way ARod should get more ab’s in a game than Cano.

He can strike out to end a game dammit!

  216. CS Yankee says:

Looks like we’re gonna need 9 innings from CC tonight.

  217. MannyGeee says:

wow, when did we get to Boston with the Yankees Suck chant? bunch of unoriginal cunts

  218. Total Dominication says:

I am not prepared for this sort of anarchy.

  219. Sdjohn says:

It must be postseason. You know the yanks can’t hit HR’s in the playoffs so therefore we don’t score. We never hit with RISP so that shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.

  220. jm says:

who’s got a final score prediction?

  221. marc says:

Joe use the bench you have guys that can hit on the bench

  222. Tony says:

With all the panic in here, you’d think the O’s would be up by 10

  223. Tom says:

TBS is really all in on the Lew Ford x-factor storyline.

Can Selig change the rules so he can hit three times this inning?

  224. pistol pete says:

All fucking year can’t hit with runners in scoring position so Girardi gives up a out and leaves only 2 shots instead of three chances to get a hit with a 315 clutch hitter the one bunting, I don’t get it.

    • Adam says:

Yes, and if Jeter hit into a double play, I am sure you would have had a rational reaction as well.

  225. Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

Am I seriously the only person who had a problem with the contact play w/ Ichiro up?

    • The Real Greg says:

Yes. Ichiro most times puts the ball in play. The problem was that he hit it right at somebody. Which is what?

      BAD LUCK

    • Adam says:

Eh. I mean sure Martin isn’t a speedster. But you do force the defense to make a tough play. Worst case scenario still ended up with two outs and a runner in scoring position.

    • JobaWockeeZ says:

      No, it’s not just you.

    • jjyank says:

It didn’t work out, but if that ball took one more hop, or was a couple of feet on either side of Andino, Martin might score. I get the contact play. We’re certainly entering that area of the game.

    • Eddard reboot v.1.0 says:

Yeah, you have to go on contact there and force them to make the throw. A foot to the right or left or a bad throw to home and it’s a run. There’s still going to be 2 outs if the runner doesn’t go home, it’d just be 2nd and 3rd instead of 1st and 3rd. Not really a big deal since the key run is still at 3rd.

  226. JLC 776 says:

Relax, everyone… so far this game has been exactly as predicted. Good pitching, shitty hitting.

  227. Mike N says:

    WE ARE GONNA WIN!!!!!

  228. Monterowasdinero says:

I liked our chances when they didn’t walk Ichiro. He made good contact which is what is needed in the postseason. ARod is so bad that they didn’t walk Ichiro to set up a gidp since they knew ARod would strike out instead and they’d have to pitch to Cano.

  229. Matt says:

Fortunately CC’s pitch count is low so if he can keep this up he might be able to give us 8. Have to hope that the offense can find a way to scratch out anything against the Orioles bullpen before we have to dig too deep into our own.

  230. TJF says:

Biggest mistakes so far, the Tex out at second and Swisher not scoring, that still hurts

  231. Adam says:

How does that not get Andino tossed?

  232. Mike N says:

    Struck that motherfucker OUT!

  233. MannyGeee says:

beauty of a pitch… Andino doing his best Youk impression

  234. Dan in Athens says:

CC’s starting to nibble a little too much

  235. Effthisnoise says:

    Fuck you andino

  236. Eddard reboot v.1.0 says:

Tony Randazzo has called a great ballgame tonight. The Os are big babies, he’s been calling that all night.

  237. Total Dominication says:

Did Robert Andino just twirl in anger? That was hilarious.

  238. Mike N says:

These announcers are so full of shit.

  239. Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

CC’s been great tonight, can we PLEASE push across a run for him.

  240. MannyGeee says:

alot of bats breaking tonight, huh?

  241. Matt says:

If the offense had done anything with all of those baserunners, people would be praising CC for his dominant effort in which he has gotten 11 of 21 outs on the ground and 5 of the remaining 11 on strikeouts while keeping his pitch count down.

It’s amazing how different it feels when the offense has scored only 2, as opposed to the 4 or 5 they probably should have.

  242. Get Phelps Up says:

Some idiot’s gonna say CC pitched poorly tonight.

  243. Karl Krawfid says:

CC is pitching his heart out.

    Come the fuck on Yankees.

  244. Joe says:

Let’s go, cc did his job.

  245. The Real Greg says:

So how many more hard hits right at people next inning?

  246. TJF says:

I won’t listen to TBS or TNT or any of the other crappy network announcers, only our own crappy announcers on WCBS

  247. Total Dominication says:

I gotta say I don’t mind this booth. There hasn’t been any talk of grit, or clutch or insulting of new stats. Nothing great, but nothing infuriating like the Buck’s, the Morgan’s, the McCarver’s or the Shilling’s.

  248. JFH says:

Yanks will take the lead this inning.

  249. Baltimore fans ripping off a Philadelphia chant. That’s just all kinds of wrong.

  250. Monterowasdinero says:

Time for Gardy or Noony to steal us a run..l

  251. Ace says:

I do not want to see the Yankees play O’s in extra innings. Not the way O’s luck has been this year. Let’s get this shit done.

  252. MannyGeee says:

    time for Robbie

  253. CS Yankee says:

These announcers are full of more shit than a Christmas Goose.

  254. Tom says:

    Robinson going opposite field here.

  255. forensic says:

Geez Cano, another horrible AB. Can we go back in time to 5 days ago?

  256. The Real Greg says:

If anyone is to be blamed on the offense, it’s that guy. He’s been horrible all night

  257. Chilango Adoptivo says:

Roll it over Robbie way to start off the inning

  258. Karl Krawfid says:

Cano and A-Rod have really stepped it up tonight.

  259. Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

    I have a feeling it’s Garbage Time.

  260. Chris says:

At least Swish has head great at bats tonight

  261. No way was that a strike.

  262. Need Pitching & Hitting says:

    Bullshit call.

  263. forensic says:

Swisher now 1-19 against Matusz in his career. Yikes.

  264. MannyGeee says:

ha. the CIN/SF game might finish before this one. they’re in the 7th already

  265. Get Phelps Up says:

That wasnt a strike. fuck you umpire.

  266. Chris says:

Ump has been had awfully inconsistent

  267. Adam says:

Seriously, Bronson Arroyo has a one hitter through 7?

  268. MannyGeee says:

nice BB drawn by Tex there

  269. jm says:

    come on grandy

  270. forensic says:

Granderson is 6-18 with 4 homers against Matusz. Please, please run into one (like that first one down the middle you just took).

  271. The Real Greg says:

    Team of destiny….

  272. Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

This whiskey needs to start working faster…

  273. Karl Krawfid says:

Can’t wait till all these scrubs are off the Yankees.

Swish and Granderson took a fastball that split the plate and a hanging curve down the fucking middle.

  274. Eddard reboot v.1.0 says:

They couldn’t hit Oday’s frisbee and now Matusz the LOOGY. If Buck doesn’t bring in Strop we’re gonna run out of good pitchers. Good thing CC can give us at least one more.

    • Get Phelps Up says:

ODay is actually really good. Matusz not so much.

    • jjyank says:

You said the word. I hereby internet kill you. You best work on a version 2.0, because….well, because I just killed you.

    • Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

Thanks dude. I didn’t want to kill everybody on the planet 1000′s of times over, but you forced me.

  275. TJF says:

This is beginning to look like a game the Yanks should have won but will end up losing………

  276. Matt says:

    These at bats are PATHETIC.

Strike 1, strike 2 right down the middle. In this spot, you have to be AGGRESSIVE if he is throwing cookies to get ahead. Especially with the bases empty like for Swisher, in which a solo shot on one of those cookies gives you the lead!

  277. Effthisnoise says:

Sucks Robbie has cooled off, he was epic in the last week and that helped win the division but i was worried bout the 3 day lay off

  278. Joe F says:

We need to swing at the first strike once in a while and drive it deep.

  279. oldmanalex says:

if i was girardi. I’d get everyone in a very brief huddle in the dugout and say… “these are the muthafuking orioles, get yo shit together fools”. but im not a coach of a mlb team, the yankees at that.

  280. ClayDavis says:

For once I wish Smoltz would answer those stupid “what would you do John?” questions with “why you asking me, I never beat the Yankees in the postseason.”

  281. Athenian says:

    Oh Curtis you’re so Grand….

  282. handtius says:

the three days off didn’t help our bats. we’ll win this one anyway and the bats will come out swinging hard tomorrow and run shit.

  283. True blue says:

    This is disgusting

  284. Sdjohn says:

We all know we don’t hit HR’s in post season. Doesn’t matter the quality of the pitcher. And we don’t get hits with RISP either. It’s tough to score runs otherwise. CC deserved better.

  285. TJF says:

Seriously, Francona was one of the best announcers I’ve heard in awhile. Too bad he’s going to the Indians.

  286. Ethan says:

This team is so feast or famine

  287. Mike N says:

Somebody give me CC’s pitch count; I can’t see the number in the side bar on my screen.

  288. The Real Greg says:

    That’s game over I bet

  289. Effthisnoise says:

    And thus it begins

  290. Get Phelps Up says:

I wish Jerry Meals was down there.

  291. True blue says:

Wow. That’s what an extra base hit looks like. Wonder if the O’s will run themselves out of the inning?

  292. Cy Pettitte says:

    and now we’re fucked. unreal.

  293. Chilango Adoptivo says:

Here we go the fold following the choke(s).

  294. ClayDavis says:

How many breaks can a team get. Jesus Christ

    • TomH says:

What “break”? You talking about the O’s?

      • ClayDavis says:

The shitty seeing eye singles. Tex missed a hr by less than a foot. That fly out that happened to go right into the random loading dock. Balls with RISP hit directly at guys. Hardy’s double was barely fair

  295. TJF says:

    Too many missed opportunities……

  296. forensic says:

Ugh, this situation could be the game.

  297. Mike N says:

    Strike this motherfucker out!

  298. The Real Greg says:

I bet he gets 2 outs and then he lets up a bloop single to score Hardy.

  299. Athenian says:

There is the winning run. Fuck.

  300. RISP Chronicles says:

I think we, as Yankee fans, should start a mass petition for A-Rod’s retirement. I mean, am I right?

  301. Kevin G. says:

    I’d walk him

  302. oldmanalex says:

adam jones is NOT a superstar. STFU

  303. Sdjohn says:

Missed opportunities will kill u in the postseason. And we are just unable to score runs in postseason ball. It’s a shame really.

  304. Who didn’t see this having enormous backfire potential?

  305. Chris says:

    CC’s just about done here…

  306. The Real Greg says:

Oh yeah, that was yet ANOTHER BREAK as the ball barely stayed in play.

  307. RISP Chronicles says:

    Here comes the slider…

  308. Tom says:

Very nice change there after 2 inside fastballs

  309. RISP Chronicles says:

    I called it!

  310. Adam says:

Wow, best slider of the game.

  311. Mike N says:

    HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE!!!!!

  312. Well, there’s one big out.

    Now need to get Wieters.

  313. thekid says:

    “Goes in for effect”

  314. Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

god I love the optimism of yankee fans. With all the positivity on this board you’d think we finished with the best record in the AL, set a team record in homers, with our ACE pitching like one.

    • The Real Greg says:

Yankee fans care about only one thing. Winning the World Series. If they don’t do that, its a failure. We’re spoiled people.

      • Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

I get that, but you can’t win the world series in game one of the LDS. I don’t care how good or clutch or whatever you are in that one game but I can say with out a shadow of a doubt that is a fact.

  315. TJF says:

another strikeout, well, why not strike the side out……..

  316. Winter says:

Is Wieters better from the left or from the right?

  317. Dorian says:

Do you bring in Robertson right here?

  318. Tony says:

    CC making some clutch pitches

  319. Chris says:

Huge two outs by the big man!

  320. Dorian says:

Big time pitching by 52 right now.

  321. Mike N says:

    YEAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!!!!!!!HJAHJA!!!!!!!

  322. Alright, need one more out here. And any hit for Mark Reynolds now is costly, so that’s not an option.

  323. Winter says:

    There we go!

  324. TJF says:

the optimism of this board sounds like what you’d expect from Boston, not NY, they have reason to bitch, how Yankee fans can come close to the cliff all the time is odd

    Like spoiled children…..

  325. Tom says:

And that inside fastball was strike 3 to Swish last inning.

  326. Raul Ibanez AKA Tom Marvolo Riddle says:

Cause that second pitch to Reynolds wasn’t a strike last inning.

  327. Tony says:

    one more big pitch CC!!!

  328. ClayDavis says:

The Yankees did beat the orioles a few times. TBS not have those highlights?

  329. Chilango Adoptivo says:

    Put him away CC!

  330. RISP Chronicles says:

    Drop another slider

  331. Sdjohn says:

CC that was clutch. Maybe we should let you hit in the 9 hole

  332. Effthisnoise says:

Mark, i suck against everybody except the yankees, reynolds

  333. Adam says:

    Ace. Enough said.

  334. Pasta Stumbling Sojo says:

    Awesome. Way to go, CC.

  335. CARSTEN FUCKING CHARLES SABATHIA!

  336. Need Pitching & Hitting says:

    Huge!
Now score some fucking runs please.

  337. Get Phelps Up says:

    Get CC some fucking runs!

  338. Karl Krawfid says:

    ACCE

    ACCE

  339. Chris says:

    Fucking clutch pitching from CC!

  340. Winter says:

Big time pitching for the Big Man.

  341. Dorian says:

    That was impressive.

  342. Eddard reboot v.1.0 says:

The ace pitched his heart out tonight. He just didn’t get much support. They could still do well by him if they can push one across in the 9th.

  343. Matt says:

CC is pitching like an ace tonight. Would be nice if the offense showed up soon.

  344. handtius says:

    cc is a fucking beast!

  345. Mike N says:

These announcers are seriously the worst. They are not even attempting to analyze the game, the players, or anything. Do they not have assistants to give them stat sheets or whatever?

  346. Tony says:

Awesome job by CC. Only one mistake all game surrounded by some bloopers and broken bat hits. Can’t ask for much more out of him. He deserves a win here

  347. Dan in Athens says:

    Those are some huge nuts.

  348. Joe says:

Stones. This is the best cc playoff game that I can remember.
