Update: Gardner NOT starting over Ichiro tonight
By2:26pm: Nevermind, apparently there was just a typo on the board in the press box. Ichiro is starting and batting second tonight.
2:20pm: Here’s a shocker: Brett Gardner is starting in left field over Ichiro Suzuki tonight. Ichiro is 7-for-12 lifetime against Orioles starter Jason Hammel, which leads me to believe he’s banged up. Curtis Granderson has moved up to second in the lineup while Gardner will hit ninth.

My ideal lineup would have just been to DH Granderson, put Gardner in center and Ichiro in left.

I hate when my computer autocorrects Ichiro to Gardner and moves the name down 7 lines from the 2nd to the 9th line
Ichiro is one of the hottest hitters on this team. He is this team’s Johnny Damon. It would be a fireable offense to bench him in favor of a player that hasn’t batted since April. Good to hear that it’s just an error.

Whew, glad that was a typo. There are about 10 guys on the roster I’d bat in the #2 spot, or at the top of the order, over Granderson.
