Update: Jeter day-to-day with bone bruise on left foot
By11:36pm: Jeter is day-to-day with a bone bruise and there is a chance he will not play tomorrow. I bet he DHs. He suffered the injury when he fouled a ball off the top of his left foot in the first, so this isn’t the same injury that hampered him in September.
10:10pm: Derek Jeter was lifted from tonight’s game with an apparent leg injury in the ninth inning. He had been hobbling since his third inning triple, though I don’t know if it’s the same left ankle bone bruise he battled late in the season. Jeter struck out to end the eighth and was replaced by Jayson Nix, and it had to be pretty bad for the Cap’n to come out of a playoff game. Stay tuned for updates.

So in tomorrow’s elimination game he probably has to DH which means Nix in the field because Nunie can’t be trusted. The offense is already awful so this is just another blow. Andy and Kuroda gave us 16 innings and gave up 5 runs. This offense couldn’t win one of those games against Bruce Chen and Mike Gonzalez. It’s over.

Joe G just said on the postgame press conference that it’s not the same previously injured foot, just a bone bruise on the top of his foot.
Sigh of relief.
It’s a LHP tomorrow so I think Mike is right, he DHs. Which means today’s hero, Raul, is on the bench. LOL! With a LHP on the mound I don’t think I’d move Alex down. If he struggles tomorrow I would move him down the next game.
I dunno, Jeter did not look good at all. I know he’s a trooper but I’m skeptical that he could even DH tomorrow. Can he even run to first with the way he was hobbling tonight?

Ibanez DH’s tonight. He hits Saunders well. If Derek can’t play short, he sits. Simple as that. You can not Bench the only bat with life in the line-up if he is healthy. Unfortunately with a lefty pitching ARod will be in the line-up as well. With Jeter Playing I assume it will look like this:
