Heathcott (thumb) and Logan (elbow) battling injuries

Via Bryan Hoch & Sweeny Murti: Both Slade Heathcott (sprained thumb) and Boone Logan (sore elbow) are battling injuries. Both guys will be out a few days after MRIs came back clean.

Heathcott, 22, hurt himself (surprise!) when he ran into Ronnie Mustelier at full speed the other day (video). No word on his timetable yet. The Yankees have been taking it easy on the 28-year-old Logan so far in camp, but that apparently hasn’t helped. He’s coming off a career-high workload that included a league-leading 80 appearances.

  1. CapitalT says:

Heathcott showed some nice range on the ball

  2. Travis L. says:

If Logan joins Cabral on the DL, do we go with Rapada and Rondon (or call up Spence), or use Rapada (LOOGY) and used someone from the group of Kelley/Miller/Warren/Perez/Daley group?

  3. Stratman9652 says:

Still cant get over how much ground he covered. He could probably cover the entire outfield himself.

  4. Alkaline says:

When do you guys think Slade will make it to AAA?

  5. Cool Lester Smooth (Formerly YanksFanInBeantown) says:

    Damn, Slade’s fast.

  6. Jonathan says:

If I was in charge of the Yankees I’d have Slade hang out with Robbie 24/7 at the park. I dunno which one would rub off on the other but it’s a win-win.

  7. Stratman9652 says:

Mustelier looks at him like “Hey I have a shot at getting a job here, don’t fuck it up.”

  8. Jonathan says:

Also, anyone notice MLB’s spelling of Mustelier?

  9. dkidd says:

    health is a skill

slade might be the only player who increases the injury risk of his teammates

  10. I am not the droids you're looking for... says:

Ugh. Just earlier I posted how amazing it was that Slade wasn’t hurt on that collision. Oops.
