Hot .GIF Action: Jose Ramirez vs. Jordan Schafer
ByRight-hander Jose Ramirez is on the mound for the Yankees this afternoon, facing the Braves in his third Spring Training outing. He made very quick work of Atlanta leadoff man Jordan Schafer, the first batter of the game. Here’s a fastball for strike one:
And another fastball for strike two:
And finally, a changeup for strike three:
lol

If he looked as good as the YES crew was making him sound then it must have been pretty fun to watch.
Anyway to make these not automatically load? Three of these repeating over and over is a bit much for me.
Yes he was that good. Topped out at 101 mixed with good change and slider. This guy looks a lot better than 12th best in the org. Like to see more of him.
Problem has always been health and inconsistancy due to in ability to stay healthy, already has the two hardest things for a pitcher fb command and a mastery of the changeup. He needs to stay healthy though.
daddy like
That arm angle is something, huh? Wonder if that makes it look faster or slower to the batters eye?
Can someone tell me how Ramirez has given up over a hit per inning over the last two years in the minors?
That’s easy- he’s Dominican and too lazy to pitch effectively to each batter. (/joke)
Sure, I’ll tell you. Inconsistency. Clearly Ramirez has very good stuff. But repeating his delivery and commanding all of his pitches isn’t fully there yet. I saw him at Tampa a few times while traveling on business. Fastball command was good but everything else was spotty, particularly the breaking ball.
He’s an exciting prospect. Hopefully he stays on the field and works more on his off-speed pitch.
2011 was the only year he was over 8.4.
Challenge them with th FB and drop in the change, you can get a lot of hitters out that way.
How is the blister and is he going to pitch in 5 days?
It’s ok…if he’s young and talented you can be sure cash man will screw him up…..somehow.
