Some notes:
- LHP Omar Luis Rodriguez threw a simulated game in Tampa yesterday, according to George King. The 20-year-old put a little too much weight on his 5-foor-11 frame while waiting for his visa to be approved a few months ago. Rodriguez signed for $4M last summer and was the team’s last big money international signing before the new spending restrictions kicked in.
- IF Josh Bell and OF Adonis Garcia were both activated off the Triple-A Scranton DL, reports Chad Jennings. Given the big league lineup, I suppose it’s not out of the question that one (or both) of those guys gets the call at some point in the coming days and weeks.
- To clear room on the Triple-A roster, OF Cody Grice and UTIL Casey Stevenson were sent to Double-A Trenton according to Mike Ashmore. OF Shane Brown was placed on the Double-A DL and IF Francisco Rosario was sent to Low-A Charleston to clear roster spots for the Thunder.
