Granderson goes hitless in latest minor league rehab game

In his latest minor league rehab game with High-A Tampa, Curtis Granderson went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. He flew out to center and grounded out to first in his other two at-bats while playing the entire game at DH. Nicholas Flammia says Granderson will work out in Tampa tomorrow and continue his rehab stint with Double-A Trenton on Tuesday. Before this afternoon’s game, Joe Girardi hinted Curtis could be return to the team for next weekend’s series against the Padres.

I just got goose bumps thinking about Granderson and Cervelli returning to a lineup that now has Jeter and Soriano in it, and still has Robbie, Ichiro, and Gardy.

Now guys like Overbay, Wells, and Stewart can play there complementry roles, which all 3 are best at doing. I realize Overbay will be playing most days, but not in heart of the order offensively anymore.

At least Granderson will add power to the lineup
No need to hurry back Hafner !

  3. Eddard says:

We need Grandy to hit behind Soriano. Then they’d at least have a good 1-5. If they’d let A-Rod play they’d have a good top 6 with Ichiro 7th. The only weak spots would be 1B and C.

I have a feeling we won’t be seeing A Rod anytime soon so not even worth mentioning his return.
