Want to know someone else who is slumping that would be Gary Sanchez his numbers don’t even deserve a promotion

    • Laz

.256/.314/.429 doesn’t exactly blow anyone away.

  • Pseudoyanks

Austin Aught got a knock ?!?

  • Mark

Just waiting for the day to see the headline Judge makes debut.

  • Different Josh

This Austin Aune business is absurd. Maybe he should just pull a Shaq Thompson and go back to football.

  • Different Josh

Serious question though. Can they justify sending Aune to SI or Charleston next year? It’d be pretty damning if he has a third year in the GCL.

    • Laz

It is really depressing how far he has fallen this year. He went from a pretty good hitting ss to a atrocious hitting rfer. I think there has to be something up, he is making Dante look super good.

      • Laz

And I have a hard time seeing bringing him up a level. It is not even that he has mediocre numbers and bringing him up might be a nice challenge. He is simply awful, .393 ops after 80 ab, sure he can turn it around, but he can’t move up like this.

      • your mom

This franchise can’t develop shit. They either get injured or don’t live up to expectations.

    • https://twitter.com/AngeloInNY Angelo

The guy might not even be around by this time next year if this continues. I guess he’d be repeating the GCL…again. It’s pretty ridiculous and strange considering his moderate success last season.

  • BigBlueAL

Even with this slump Jagielo still has an OBP around .400 right??

    • https://twitter.com/AngeloInNY Angelo

If you’re asking, the answer is yes, yes he does. .409 with SI and .404 overall.

      • BigBlueAL

Thanks. One thing this team needs is to get back to having high OBP guys regardless of their power. Dunno if Jagielo will develop power but if he can maintain his plate discipline and continue to get on base as he moves up that will be fine with me.

        • https://twitter.com/AngeloInNY Angelo

He should have some pop in his bat. Hasn’t really showed up yet though. I’ll pay closer attention to him next year when he joins Low-A ball

        • Greg

He hasn’t even had 100 PAs as a pro, so don’t read too far into it. Maybe it’s a fluke and maybe he’s not gearing himself that way at the moment, but if Jagielo has one thing, it’s power.

      • cooolbreeez

it seems Jag is getting HBPs every game. If the pitchers’ control at that level is so poor it must make it difficult to adjust to and perhaps related to his good OBP low BA.

        • https://twitter.com/AngeloInNY Angelo

Not quite. He’s been hit 3 times with SI and has a .278 BA…which is far from low. Practically .280. Still a super small sample size and we won’t know too much about Jagielo until he plays in a full season league.

Dose Abi Avelino has plus speed?

    • https://twitter.com/AngeloInNY Angelo

I haven’t seen anything suggesting that he has plus speed, but he’s been good at stealing bases thus far, even though it’s just the GCL.

I remember reading something a while back saying that he was an average runner. Not sure how true that is though.

      Axisa might know?

  • Gonzo

    Thairo Time!

  • nycsportzfan

At least now i know why Randy Ruiz hasen’t been promoted. Its the doubles total!!! J/k..lol Dude can certainly hit, thats for sure. God, it’d of been nice to have this kinda hot streak on the big club instead of wasting it in the minors.

  • Rober

Lets get Wade and Katoh to Staten Island Please…

The whole minor league is a disgrace, why not try to hire some personal from the more successful minor league systems.

  • nycsportzfan

Looks like Refsnyder has it figured out again.

  • BigLoving

Anyone know what happened to Rey Nunez?…..haven’t seen his name in a while

    • Different Josh

He’s been playing for Charleston. He hasn’t had many big games in a while, and since he’s sort of a non prospect, Mike hasn’t been writing about him.

  • Shittyshittybangbang

Adonis Garcia finally healthy ? I remember he being hurt. From what I’ve read, seems to have a shot at being a nice player. Anyone have the full ‘scoop’ on Adonis ?
