- The Yankees and Dellin Betances had their arbitration hearing today, and afterwards Betances said he’ll be in camp tomorrow. Brian Cashman and Randy Levine represented the team while Betances was there with his agent. The ruling is expected tomorrow. This is 15th and final arbitration case this year. The first 14 have been an even split — seven wins for teams and seven wins for players. [Billy Witz, George King]
- Here are the day’s live batting practice assignments as well as the bullpen and hitting groups, via Bryan Hoch. Adam Warren and Luis Severino threw live BP to a group that included Gleyber Torres and Tyler Wade. Tyler Clippard threw to Dustin Fowler and Miguel Andujar.
- The Yankees also suffered their second spring injury today: Mason Williams will be out two weeks with an inflamed left patella tendon. He dealt with it over the winter, it went away for a while, then it came back. So it goes. [Brendan Kuty]
- And finally, Jacoby Ellsbury is going to be a few days late to camp because his wife is due to give birth soon. Congrats to them. Position players are scheduled to report tomorrow. [King]
This is the open thread for the evening. There is basically nothing going on tonight. None of the local hockey teams are in action, the NBA is starting their All-Star break, and there are no college basketball games on the schedule. Good night to get out of the house. Talk about whatever here, as long as it’s not religion or politics.
