• The week started with Monday’s off-day, then on Tuesday, the Yankees faced the Twins with their season on the line in the AL Wild Card Game. Luis Severino got hammered in that game, but the bullpen came to the rescue and the Yankees won 8-4.
• The AL Wild Card Game win meant a date with the Indians in the ALDS. Trevor Bauer dominated the Yankees in the 4-0 Game 1 loss. In Game 2, the Yankees hit Corey Kluber hard, but they blew an 8-3 lead and lost 9-8 in 13 innings. The Yankees stayed alive with a 1-0 win in Game Three.
• Farm system head Gary Denbo is expected to join the Derek Jeter and the Marlins this offseason. Denbo’s contract expires soon.
