Monday Night Open Thread

Hideki Matsui won’t get into the National Baseball Hall of Fame this year — he hasn’t received a single vote yet and is probably going to fall off the ballot — but he is going into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame. The Kyodo News reports Matsui was voted into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame on Monday with ease. He received 91.3% of the vote (75% is needed for induction) in his first year on the ballot. Pretty awesome. Congrats Godzilla. I wrote a thing at CBS a week or two ago about his combined Japan and MLB numbers, and what it means for the Hall of Fame, so check that out. Or don’t. Whatever.

Here is an open thread for the night. The Islanders are playing and there are a few college basketball games on the schedule. That about it. Talk about those games, Matsui and the Hall of Fame, or anything else here that isn’t religion or politics.
