Timmy Lincecum, beast

We keep saying it can't get any worse -- but it does

Since we fetishize good young pitchers around here, I thought I would share with you Tim Lincecum’s pitching line tonight against the Astros. He went 7 IP, gave up 2 hits, 1 run (unearned) and 1 walk while recording 10 strike outs. He threw 60 of his 95 pitches for strikes. That’s pretty damn good. I think he’ll stick around San Francisco.

Ok, so I live in the Bay. The Mercury News ran a little blurb about Lincecum this week. Oswalt loves the guy and he specifically wanted to see him pitch. He noted many similarities – he said that both were thought to be undersized… and something else (wacky pitching motion?… though I doubt that). He also said that he (Oswalt) was very surprised that Lincecum did not ice after games. Oswalt said that he felt the same way when he was young, but that he had to adjust as his career went by. He had a quote in there about learning more as his career went by.

    Anyways, go Yankees!
