Bruney up as Villone DL’d
ByRoster changes abound before the Yanks face the Tigers this weekend. Brian Bruney’s exile to Scranton ended today as the Yanks recalled the righty. Bruney managed to give up 4 runs in 6 IP in AAA. In a corresponding move, the Yanks put Ron Villone on the DL with what Peter Abraham reports as a “lower back strain.” I prefer to call that a “You suck, but Joe Torre won’t let us release you” injury. Meanwhile, the Yanks’ best relief option continues to toil away at AAA while Bruney gets another chance to prove that he has no control.

I really wonder how many times Britton banged Cashman’s wife and/or Torre’s mistres.
Is it that Britton banged Cashmans wife or that Villone banged Cashman?
I dont think were gonna get that game in tonight…weather report from Detroit is strong t-storms all nite. too bad i was keen to see Clemens pitch.
Anyone think we’ll pick up Bob Wickman now that the Braves DFA’d him today? You know how we have a history of acquiring players we’ve previously had.

i thought about wickman too when i read he was dfa’d. i think its possible for sure, we can use some bullpen help.
i don’t want wickman, to be honest. if he was worth keeping, the braves wouldn’t have DFA’d him. The last thing we need is an eric gagne type from the NL.
Wickman has been Farnsworthesque this season…As in we don’t need him.
