Costas joins MLB Network

By

Maury Brown at The Biz of Baseball has the news. The award winning sportscaster will join the network immediately, and host special original programming and head back to the broadcast booth for select games. Costas obviously is great addition to the network, but let’s just hope they don’t force him down our throats. Costas is good in moderation, but we don’t need to see his holier than thou schpeel every night.

    Costas is terrible.

Why can’t they try to find new broadcasters? There are some talented guys out there that should get a shot here.

  2. Jamal G. says:

It may be just cynical speculation, but I still think Bob Costas had a very good idea of how Buzz Bissinger was going to act towards Will Leitch on that special about blogs on his program, Costas NOW.

costas as a play by play commentator for live games = yes, i like

costas as in studio analyst = please, no. just. say. no.

maybe HR tries to hug costas and gets fired again

  4. Matt says:

I remember on the “60 Minutes” piece about Bill James, they talked to Costas and how he is pretty much into statistical analysis, too. Maybe this’ll help get that info out to the general public.

  5. Reggie C. says:

    Costas is the man.

  6. JohnnyC says:

Costas spent too many years in St. Louis, simple as that.

  7. As a fellow blogger, I am well aware of the positive benefits of serving ads on your blog. However, these flat stomach ads are downright AWFUL and I have to see them at EVERY blog I visit.

    UGH

  8. 27 this year says:

Is MLB Network going to show games sort of like ESPN and suck just as much?

  9. kSturnz says:

MLBN will not suck. Plato said everything in moderation

  10. Sam P. says:

How long until Costas brings out his Mickey Mantle stories of American youth?
