Joba update: x-rays negative

By Benjamin Kabak

Just to get this out there now: The x-rays on Joba’s right knee came back negative, and he is listed as day-to-day with a bruised knee. Based on the picture at NJ.com, it appears as though Joba was struck slightly below his right kneecap. Joe Girardi is “hopeful” that the right-hander will make his next scheduled start. One thing is for sure: Joba will have a nasty black-and-blue mark tomorrow. We’ll have more on the game in a bit.

does his innings cap figure into their decision to skip him or not?

Doubtful. His leg will though. He threw 0.2 innings tonight so this actually pushes back his innings cap by a start.

any chance they give his start to wang?

Completely depends upon how it seems tomorrow. I said to Mike at the game that we’ll know quickly on Friday. If Wang makes his AAA start as scheduled, than Joba’s fine. Even still, they’d probably have Wang pitch on schedule tomorrow and use Aceves as a spot starter if Joba can’t go on Tuesday.

Chances Joba hoes on Tuesday? 70%?

kunaldo says:

are you inferring that joba is a (gardening) tool? Or that he’s rather promiscuous?

Bryan says:

Joba hoes every day.
