Trenton’s playoff hopes end with loss
ByDouble-A Trenton had their backs up against the wall, needing to win their final three games of the season to make it into the Eastern League playoffs as the Wildcard team. They got the job done yesterday, but they came up short and lost to New Britain 6-4 today. Eduardo Nunez went 4-for-4 with two doubles in the loss, but killed rallies by getting thrown out trying to stretch a double into a triple in the 5th, and then again by getting doubled off second on a fly ball to left field in the 8th.
The two-time defending champs won’t get a chance to defend their crown. For shame.

pore guys. Get ‘em next year boys.
Mike, do you do like a season wrap-up of what went down in Trenton this year? Like who did well, who did bad, etc..
Nah, nothing too extensive. I do give out awards and stuff for each level, MVP, Cy, surprise player, etc. That’ll be out Thursday.
thanks man
They were lost without Jesus.
It was He who was carrying them through the hard times.
No Jesus and No Jorge Vasquez would to that
I was at the game. Nunez looks like a hitter to me. He got thrown out when he rounded 2nd and fell down trying to stop and head back.
They scored all 4 runs in the 1st. After that, other then Nunez, the offense was non-existant.
I like the 4-4 from Nunez, but two outs on the basepaths? Riiiight
