ALCS Game Three Spillover Thread V
Girardi overmanages his way to a Game Three loss

Here’s a thread for you guys to talk about some of the non-Yankee sports action going on tonight. Randy Wolf (11-7, 3.23) tries to even up the NLCS at two games a piece against Joe Blanton (12-8, 4.05) at 8pm ET, while the Broncos visit the Chargers a little later on. The Rangers are also playing. Talking about whatever you want here, just follow the guidelines and be cool.

Go Broncos! But at first, let’s go Yankees.

  • count crapulent

The whole Wolfpack thing when he was in Philly is a great story. And now he’s pitching against them.

Mike, is this some sort of joke?

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

No, I set this to post last night. Forgot all about it.

  • Salty Buggah

That sack was all on Orton. You gotta get rid of it with all that time.

    • pat

Fucking Girardi probably fucking told him to stand in the fucking pocket too long.

      /troll’d

      • Salty Buggah

Heh, yea, Girardi is calling for the Broncos D to miss easy sacks and tackles. Just like he called for Alfredo to suck again. Seriously though, Aceves is stinking it up this postseason. I hope his ERA correction towards his FIP isn’t coming now.

        • pat

Hard for ace to stay sharp as a swingman in the playoffs. Dunno what Girardi was thinking, shit sucks yo.

          • Salty Buggah

Yea, still pissed at Swisher though. Dude needs to get it going in the playoffs

  • Accent Shallow

Rooting for the NLCS to go 7, so go Dodgers.

  • Salty Buggah

EDDIE ROYAL!!!! I was thinking just before the kickoff how Royal has struggled returning kicks as we barely get any good runs and then…BAM!

  • charlespoet

Anyword from Girardi on why he pulled Robertson for Aceves? Still that 2nd and 4th inning was the demise of the Yankees. Had two changes to bury this team and they didn’t. Good thing we have CC tomorrow night. Yanks can get to Kazmir.

Said he liked the match up better. That’s not necessarily just stats, could also be what Ace throws and what Mathis likes to hit.

  • Dela G

i’m so depressed after that game

i think its because tsjc wasn’t there tonight

    there was a huge void

    • Salty Buggah

Yea, it sucked. It was an emotional letdown after jam Mo escaped. I still can’t believe how badly Ace pitched. He served up a high fastball down the middle. I also can’t believe how these shitty players like Mathis and Kendrick always mash against us.

      • Dela G

        same here

        makes me mad

  • pat

OMG House, that dude just woke up wtf?

  • JMK aka The Overshare

Holy shit is the last spillover getting a LoHudian vibe. It’s dangerous in there.

    • Salty Buggah

Yea, I didn’t even bother to go back in there after Piss poor backup catcher who sucks ass Mathis doubled. I don’t blame Girardi. Ace has stunk it up so far in the postseason. We weren’t at home so A-rod couldn’t bail him out again. Also, we can’t forget the Swisher runner 3rd and 1 out failures. That’s what hurt us most IMO.

    • http://www.theyankeeuniverse.com/ The Artist

      OK, THEN YOU’RE FIRED TOO!!!!

  • Dela G

    damn it

kris jenkins has a torn ACL

    out for season

wow that’s a big blow to my gang green

  • ROBTEN

Reading the last game thread, you’d think that the Yankees just got swept.

I mean, no one wants them to lose a game, but some of the comments, like calling for Girardi to be fired mid-series, are just hilarious.

Anyway, no worries. I have it on good authority that CC is gonna take care of business…I mean, just look at him getting reading for the game (SFW)

    • JMK aka The Overshare

      Dad?!

    • pat

      hahahah nice.

  • Salty Buggah

Can ESPN stop making the line of where the ball currently is look like the 1st down line? Just make it blue like everyone else.

  • Salty Buggah

There ya go Orton. Just stretch the field, now do it more often.

  • Chris

At least I was able to avoid the Ranger disaster tonight. 7-3 San Jose, meh.

  • Salty Buggah

EDDIE ROYAL!!!! Punt return this time!

  • pat

Damn, this is a very powerful episode of House.

  • Andy in Sunny Daytona

IPK just told Tabata, “No soup for you”.

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

    FISTED!

  • Salty Buggah

Fuck you Sproles. Thank Mo this is just a preseason game. Football doesn’t start until baseball’s over.

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

Shouldn’t Torre be going to Broxton here?

    • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

But, lefties do tend to baffle Howard. We’ll see how it turns out.

      • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

        And it worked.

  • Salty Buggah

    6-0 BABY!

  • Zack

Maybe now I can finally stop hearing about the Chargers.
    LT- washed up
Sproles- special teams is where he belongs
    Merriman- off the juice
Cromartie- obviously not the same player without a pass rush
Merriman, Phillips and Tucker= 0 sacks this season, team has 7 sacks total

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

    Wow, epic fail by Broxton.

    • Zack

whenever your closer goes BB and HBP back to back you know you’re in trouble

  • danny

    yikes

  • Ivan

    So are the Dodgers done?

By the way, im thinking about this, wouldn’t the yankees be a bad match up for the Phillies? I can see the yankees beating up on the Phillies.

  • Stryker

rick peterson was named as the brewers’ new pitching coach.
