Yankees get Lance Pendleton back from Astros
ByVia Alyson Footer, the Astros have returned Rule 5 Draft pick Lance Pendleton to the Yankees. The right-hander has already clear waivers and been assigned to minor league camp, so he’s not on the 40-man roster. Pendleton, 27, was dubbed Houston’s 29th best prospect by Baseball America this spring, and they called him a fifth starter/long/middle reliever-type. He throws a low-90′s fastball, a sinker, curveball, slider, and changeup, none of which particularly stand out. Just another arm for the Double- or Triple-A staff.
George Kontos, the other guy the Yankees lost in the Rule 5 Draft, was returned by the Padres earlier this month.

I’m more glad to have Kontos back than Pendleton, but every bit of depth helps.
As Casey Stengel famously said “You can never not have enough guys named Lance in your organization.”
NO F*&^%*$# WAY!!!!!

Whenever I see his name, I always picture him as the love child of Terry Pendleton and Lance Bass. I find this endlessly entertaining.
Do we really need another arm in the minors?! Cashman should be fired! He is blocking our young arms from reaching the majors!

Not just on NoMaas. I’ve seen that sentiment on this very blog.
Once space left in Yahoo fanatsy baseball. Draft is at 7 EST. ID# 176075 and password is riveraveblues
For whatever it’s worth, Pendleton was brutal this spring with 17 baserunners allowed in less than 8 innings an an ERA above 5.00.
I don’t think he’s enough of a prospect to replace any of the projected starters in AAA or AA.
