Yankees invited Hideki Matsui to Spring Training…
By…as a guest instructor according to Dan Barbarisi. Matsui, who retired in December, declined the invitation because Mrs. Godzilla is due to give birth to Baby Godzilla in the not too distant future. I’m guessing we won’t have to wait very long to see Hideki back with the team though, there’s Spring Training and an Old Timers’ Day every year.

I’ve got a picture of the little rascal…. [Insert drawing of an asian baby.]
Gamera
No silly, Godzuki.
Gamera was a turtle.
Actually,
1st child = Tadzilla
Godzuki cums later
Ick
Sweet! I’d love to see Hideki stick around the franchise in the future.
Now that is Yankee great. It has been straight downhill since he carried us to our last WS title.
I almost screamed trolling about that comment, but then I realized it’s true. That ruined my day.
No, it’s really not.
3 playoff appearances and 2 ALCS appearances =/= straight downhill.
AND IT WAS ALL MATSUI.
He did single handedly win Game 6.
I wonder what dalelama would call missing the playoffs 3 straight years, if this is “straight downhill” to him.
From a World Series win I guess any other result is downhill.
1) Complain when Yankees let go of really old guys
2) complain that Yankees are too old
3) ???
4) profits!
That baby will be the Baseball equivalent of John Henry, born with a bat in his hand ready for his future in the Bronx
The Legend of Godzilla Junior’s Bat?
I had to re-read this 3 times before I realized you meant folk legend John Henry.
I fail.
Johnny Cash is most displeased with you.
Free porn for all the non-roster invites!
Oh the memories of “hit-deki” a great man with an amazing pornographic collection.
55,000 is insane.
I agree. Insane. I draw the line at 50,001.
I wonder if this means he’s staying on this side of the world and not moving back to Japan. Hoping he can find a place in the Yankee organization. One of my favorites from the past twenty years.
They live in New York as I recall and didn’t seem too keen on leaving if I remember his retirement press conference correctly.
The baseball gods will never forgive the lousy deal that the Yankees gave Matsui at the end of the 2009 season. We could have had a DH who hit tape measure home runs, Clutch home runs, hit for power and average, kept his mouth shut, was a 110% Yankee and even held a press conference to apologize to the fans and team when he broke his wrist. And after 6 RBI in the World Series, cast him aside like a used rag.
And we could have gotten him signed for only 3 million dollars.
Godzilla- you deserved better.
Not re-signing him was hardly the reason they lost in 2010.
The san fran giants own the baseball world now, and you loser Yankee fans will never get it back!!
Yanks didn’t let Matsui go, HE LEFT TO PLAY THE OUTFIELD! Yanks never even got a chance to negotiate with him. With his knee and wrist problems, Yanks knew him playing an OF position was a no go. I luv the guy but his last 3 yrs of failure are on him. Same with Damon.
