Chris Stewart day-to-day with left groin injury

Chris Stewart is day-to-day with a left groin injury after leaving last night’s game. The MRI came back clean, so he’ll avoid the DL and instead rest a few days. He is available in an emergency. Austin Romine will hold down the fort until Stewart is ready to return to the lineup.

Is his groin falsely known as a better defensive groin because it can’t perform offensively as a groin?

Jesus. Romine and no BUC is not a good thing, even for a few days.

  2. Chien Ming The Merciless says:

Looks like Girardi will be forced to play Romine for a few games. I’d like to see what this kid has even if it’s just for a few games in a row. Seems like Girardi doesn’t trust him yet.

I’m glad he’s going get a shot for a few games, but I can understand why Girardi doesn’t trust him. He’s made a few questionable decisions in his limited PT defensively and he hasn’t exactly hit yet.

Who’s the emergency BUC for Romine by default while Stewart is on the shelf?!
I vote Pronk! His body can handle that, can’t it?! Or may I should vote for Mo! Maybe Mo has some secret desire to play C as well as CF! Or what about Tony Pena! Is Tony Pena on the 40 man roster?! He’s got the uniform and number already! Does Girardi just use one of those spin-the-wheel-things and see who it lands on?! Or is some sort of a pin-the-tail-on-the-Yankee contest in his office before the game?
