Some roster moves from Josh Norris and Chad Jennings:

  • LHP Vidal Nuno (groin) and OF Brennan Boesch (shoulder) were both placed on the Triple-A Scranton DL. No word on the timetable, but word is Nuno’s injury isn’t too serious.
  • RHP Graham Stoneburner has been moved up to Triple-A Scranton, IF Carmen Angelini up to Double-A Trenton, and IF Ali Castillo down to High-A Tampa.

Triple-A Scranton (4-1 loss to Buffalo)

  • DH Thomas Neal: 1-4, 2 K
  • CF Zoilo Almonte: 2-4, 1 K
  • LF Ronnie Mustelier: 0-3, 1 R, 1 BB
  • CF Melky Mesa: 0-4
  • RHP Chris Bootcheck: 7 IP, 10 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 5/9 GB/FB — 69 of 105 pitches were strikes (66%) … 21 runs allowed in his last 32.1 innings across his last six starts

Double-A Trenton (3-2 win over Richmond, walk-off style)

  • DH Ramon Flores: 1-4, 2 K, 1 CS, 1 HBP
  • CF Slade Heathcott: 1-3, 1 R, 2 BB, 1 K, 1 SB
  • RF Tyler Austin: 3-5, 2 2B, 1 RBI, 1 SB — walk-off double … 16-for-43 (.372) with five doubles and two homers in his last ten games
  • C J.R. Murphy: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K
  • RHP Zach Nuding: 5 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 1 WP, 5/5 GB/FB — 54 of 82 pitches were strikes (66%)
  • RHP Caleb Cotham: 4 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, 4/1 GB/FB — 41 of 54 pitches were strikes (76%) … going to do the tandem starter thing for the time being, but he’s probably a reliever long-term anyway

High-A Tampa Game One (3-1 loss to Lakeland in seven innings) makeup of yesterday’s rainout

  • CF Mason Williams: 2-3, 1 BB, 1 K
  • DH Angelo Gumbs: 1-4, 3 K
  • LF Ben Gamel: 2-4, 1 R, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 K — four hits in his last two games after a five-game hitless streak
  • C Gary Sanchez: 0-3
  • 2B Rob Refsnyder: 1-3, 2 E (throwing, fielding) — any time he wants to start hitting again would be cool with me
  • RHP Michael Pineda: 4.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 4/3 GB/FB — had more on him earlier

High-A Tampa Game Two (2-1 loss to Lakeland)

  • CF Mason Williams: 0-3
  • 2B Angelo Gumbs: 0-2, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 SB
  • DH Rob Refsnyder: 1-3, 1 2B
  • RHP Bryan Mitchell: 5 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, 1 WP, 7/1 GB/FB

Low-A Charleston (5-2 win over Asheville)

  • SS Cito Culver: 1-4, 1 R, 2 K
  • 1B Greg Bird: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI
  • 3B Dante Bichette: 0-4, 1 K — five hits in his last 32 at-bats (.156)
  • CF Jake Cave: 1-3, 1 K — got picked off second
  • RHP Jose Campos: 3.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, 1 Balk, 5/2 GB/FB — 44 of 61 pitches were strikes (72%) … 38/11 K/BB in 40 innings
  • LHP Dietrich Enns: 3 IP, zeroes, 1 K, 3/4 GB/FB — 15 of 26 pitches were strikes (58%) … just too good this year
