MLB announces World Series schedule
ByNow that the Yankees have wrapped up the ALCS, MLB has announced start times for the World Series games against the Yankees. The schedule comes to us via Pete Dougherty of The Times-Union. All games air on FOX, and there is no extra off day in between Games 4 and 5 this time. You can blame FOX’s NFL obligations for the late start next Sunday.
Game 1: Wednesday, Oct. 28, 7:57 p.m. at Yankee Stadium
Game 2: Thursday, Oct. 29, 7:57 p.m. at Yankee Stadium
Game 3: Saturday, Oct. 31, 7:57 p.m. at Citizens Bank Park
Game 4: Sunday, Nov. 1, 8:20 p.m. at Citizens Bank Park
Game 5: Monday, Nov. 2, 7:57 p.m. at Citizens Bank Park*
Game 6: Wednesday, Nov. 4, 7:57 p.m. at Yankee Stadium*
Game 7: Thursday, Nov. 5, 7:57 p.m. at Yankee Stadium*
*If necessary

Who’s our game 4 starter? Gaudin?
Bruney.
CC Sabathia. new guy. pretty tall.
CC. On short rest. Obvs.
CC goes 4 and 7, only issue is it means AJ and Andy also go short in 5 and 6.
Good thing Games 5, 6, and 7 won’t be necessary.
5,6,7 won’t be necessary??????? are you kidding me?
Guess you expect phills to sweep huh?
Ahhh Phillies fan’s trolling.
I know, right? Nothing better to do in Philadelphia at 8 a.m. I guess.
Well, he wasn’t half bad.
No, he was all bad! Do-ho-ho-ho!!

Finally something funny on the MLB Network, they just showed Bernie’s 1st pitch and Magrane said “it looks like his arm has gotten stronger”.
Very funny.
Mike Scioscia was very gracious in his post game remarks. Classy.
True, but you could tell he wanted to flip out over the terrible base-running and fielding errors, both in this game and the series.
Using Albany’s own Times Union- I like it!
Do you guys think they’re gonna drop one of their relievers for Hinske? I know they could get rid of Guzman, but having Roberston, Aceves and Joba doesn’t make sense.
If they’re going with a three man rotation, it’s a no brainer. Drop Gaudin.
We’re not going to need three catchers for the WS.
I agree, and I think the one that should be dropped is Molina, the AJ-Molina experiment has clearly gone down the toilet as soon as AJ sh*t the bed against the Halos. Plus Cervelli is obviously the *slightly* better hitter.
Yanks get #27 in 5 games (keeping it realistic)
GO YANKS!

Fuckin’ right.
I love that Phillies fans really think that by beating the Rays they beat the real AL.
Can someone explain to me why the Sunday game starts at 8:20 but all the others start at 7:57? Why wouldn’t every game just start at 7:57?
I already did in the post when I wrote: “You can blame FOX’s NFL obligations for the late start next Sunday.”
Because of football, FOX can’t clear its schedule in time for a 7:57 p.m. start on Sunday.

That day should be an epic one in New York-Philly sports history.
In Fox’s block of NFL options is this one from Lincoln Financial Field: New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles.
So for several thousand dollars (and some serious iron in your ass) you could go to both the Giants game and the World Series since the two stadiums are within about a mile of parking lots of each other.
Fox should just video the pre/post-game tailgate action – surely it’ll be more entertaining than Carolina-Arizona or Farvegeddon in Green Bay.
