Derek maybe not getting married
ByWhen we yesterday highlighted a New York Post story claiming that Derek Jeter is getting married in November, we may have jumped the gun a bit. Although the story featured a denial by those in charge of the venue in Huntington, Long Island, the Post seemed pretty convinced of its veracity. Today, though, Craig Calcaterra’s sources tell him that Derek’s sister Sharlee is the one getting married. I just don’t know who or what to believe anymore, but hey, at least my sister still has her chance.

Congrats to Miss Kabak! I’m sure she’s just as psyched as my latent . . . wait, this is a family site.
Wow, I broke this story in the open thread like, hours ago. Give me some credit! (Tip: Read the final line of the NY Post story. It’s quite telling.)
Although I wonder what it tells about the way humans read or something like that since everybody read the article and almost nobody noticed that little line at the end.
When my brother sent me the link yesterday I pointed out the last line to him (and later to my dad) and all I got was an “oh” for my efforts. At the very least, I think if Derek’s plans were leaked to the public he would probably change them.
This is why RAB needs to stay out of the tabloid game. It’s cut throat. There’s none of that sissy, cushy, stat-nerd stuff.
THIS is the hard-hitting news RAB has needed for a long time. Honestly, that stat-nerd
shitstuff was just gilding the flower of the true hard-hitting news RAB has been waiting to post. I applaud tem for their efforts.Sincerely,
Jon Heyman, with Matt Taibbai
We could calculate the BABIP v. xBABIP of accuracy of Post stories.
I’d imagine most of the successfully reported information that makes it into their paper is probably just dumb luck.
This is great news, I was about to take Derek off my playa hero list…..
I did notice that line at the end of the article yesterday but I was too devastated to think rationally. Plan of proposing to him on the scoreboard is back on.
what idiot sadi that jeter is getting married. there is a difference between his sister and him. some retarted newcasters these days
It would help if you could actually spell “retarded” right.

Jeter will get married. The day after he retires. Hes the smartest guy in the room.
It would help if you could actually use an apostrophe right.
(Sorry, couldn’t resist.)
