Yankees agree to terms with pre-arb players
ByVia the Winnipeg Free Press, the Yankees have agreed to terms with their pre-arbitration eligible players, meaning guys with less than three years of service time. There’s 18 players in all, but the notables include Joba Chamberlain, Phil Hughes, Al Aceves, David Robertson, and Brett Gardner. No word on the money, but they’re all close to the $400,000 league minimum I’m sure. Joba and Hughes might be over $500,000 by now, and both will be looking at seven figures in their first year of arbitration eligibility in 2011.

I wonder how much a subscription to the Winnepeg Free Press would be?
If it’s a penny, that’s probably one penny too much…
(Finally grabs umbrella and iPod, and heads out the door, two posts later…)
Winnepeg free press? How did Winnepeg get a hold of this news?

Isn’t this the second time you guys source the Winnipeg Free Press in recent weeks, what’s the deal with that? Being a subscriber to the Winnipeg Free Press I know that they have a really bad sports section, how are they the first to break this?
Google News + AP. I saw this listed in a transactions column in the Palm Beach Post this morning, and we needed a source for it.
