- The week started with an off-day, then the Reds came to the Bronx for an interleague series. The Yankees picked up 4-2 win Tuesday and a 9-5 win Wednesday for a quick two-game sweep.
- The Rays came to town next for a big four-game series. The Yankees walked off with a 6-5 win Thursday, then got a great performance from Masahiro Tanaka in Friday’s 6-1 win. They walked off again for a 5-4 win Saturday, but were unable to finish the sweep. They lost 5-3 Sunday.
- Injury Updates: Aaron Hicks (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Wednesday. Austin Romine (hand) is day-to-day with a bruise after being hit by a pitch. Tyler Austin (hamstring) and Justus Sheffield (oblique) have resumed baseball activities.
